Abstract

PURPOSE: To stably utilize equipment using hot water by placing a heat exchanger in the exhaust gas cooling water circuit of a metallurgical furnace and regulating the vol. of water at the heat receiving side of the exchanger in accordance with a fluctuation in temp. of exhaust gas cooling water to always keep the temp. of water at the heat receiving side constant.
CONSTITUTION: Hot exhaust gas from metallurgical furnace M is cooled with water in cooler 1, and the water heated to a high temp. is fed to high press. tank 11, where the press. of the hot water is controlled by charging N2 gas, etc. The hot water is then supplied to the heat giving side of heat exchanger 13, cooled in exchanger 13, cooled in exchanger 13, and returned to exhaust gas cooler 1. On the other hand, heat receiving side water heated to a high temp. at the heat receiving side of exchanger 13 is utilized in equipment 20 using hot water through high temp. tank 17, cooled, and fed to exchanger 13 again through low temp. tank 22. At this time, the temps. of the heat giving side hot water and the heat receiving side cold water fed to exchanger 13 are measured with thermometers 26, 27, and according to the signals flow control valve 24 at the heat receiving side piping is regulated to change the vol. of the heat receiving side water, thereby keeping the water heating temp. always constant. Accordingly, stable recovery of heat is carried out in equipment 20.
