Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve a heat exchange foctor, by a method wherein a coolant fluid is brought from the upper part into contact with a heat transfer pipe located at right angles with or at a tilting angle to the direction of gravity, and fins are positioned one-sided in the opposite direction to that of the coolant fluid and centering around the axial center of the pipe.
CONSTITUTION: Low-temperature air is fed into a duct 1 from an upper part to a lower part, and a semicircular toroidal plate fin 10 is attached to an upper part of an external circumference of a heat transfer pipe 2. Steam, passing through the heat transfer pipe 2, is cooled by low-temperature air through the pipe 2 and the fins 10 for condensation, and moves downward through the action of gravity. In the pipe 2, steam 9 remains at the upper part thereof and condensed liquid 8 exists at the lower part thereof. The upper part of the pipe 2 makes direct contact with low- temperature air, and a heat transfer factor of air to the fins 10 and the heat transfer pipe 2 becomes extensively high. No fin 10 is attached to the lower part side of the pipe 2, and this reduces a draft resistance in the pipe 1 and a blower is miniaturized.
