Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent from dew condensation at a heat pipe portion, by a method wherein a sealing gas bank, which is filled with noncondensing gas, is located so that it is connected to the end of a condensation portion of a heat pipe.
CONSTITUTION: A gas bank 21, feed tubes 24 and 25, and ends of condensation portions 14 and 15 of heat pipes 7 and 8 are connected together in order named above, and thereby noncondensing gas in the gas bank 21 tends to disperse into the condensation portions 14 and 15 of the heat pipes through the feed pipes 24 and 25. Meanwhile, during the operation of the heat pipes, vapor of functional fluid medium in the condensation portions 14 and 15 of the heat pipes suppresses the dispersion of the noncondensing gas, and functions so as to force back said gas into the gas bank 21. When a surface temperature of a fin 13 is below 22°C, the heat pipes 7 and 8 stop operating, whereby the surface temperature of the fin 13 is not cooled to below 22°C, and it does not fall to below the dew point (20°C). This permits the prevention from dew condensation.
