Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a simple apparatus capable of cooling a cable or cables effectively, by connecting a condensing heat exchanger respectively to opposite ends of a pipe, and causing reciprocal movement of coolant charged in the pipe by intermittently changing the capacity of the two heat exchangers.
CONSTITUTION: Coolant 3 is sealed in pipe 1, and condensing heat exchangers 21, 22 are connected respectively to opposite ends of pipe 1. When heat exchanger 21 is set into operation and the temperature of coolant 3 sealed in pipe 1 becomes lower than the room temperature, coolant 3 in pipe 1 flows from the side of heat exchanger 22 toward heat exchanger 21. On the other hand, when operation of heat exchanger 21 is stopped and heat exchanger 22 is set into operation, coolant 3 flows from the side of heat exchanger 21 toward heat exchanger 22. By thus setting heat exchangers 21, 22 intermittently, reciprocal movement of coolant 3 is caused in pipe 1. Therefore, if such an apparatus is installed along a cable or cables, they can be cooled with ease.
