Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable re-actuation without stopping motor when commutation failure has occurred, by changing the selection of parallel resistor and adding a forced turning-on circuit to a gate signal circuit of a thyristor.
CONSTITUTION: When commutation failure occurs in a power inverter 6 due to momentary power-service interruption in the power supply AC, etc., the DC current is abruptly increased by the secondary residual voltage of a motor 2 to automatically causing the breaking action of a DC breaker 8 and the DC current is attenuated by flowing through the parallel resistor 7 having a relatively low resistance value. Interlocking with the breaking action of the DC breaker 8 an AC breaker 3 in the primary side of the power inverter 6 is caused to break, and at the same time a forced turning-on signal is supplied to the thyristor forming the power inverter 6 from the forced turning-on circuit 19. After power service restoration, a normal turning-on signal is supplied from an automatic pulse phase shifter 18 and the AC breaker 3 is closed and then DC breaker is re-closed.
