Abstract

PURPOSE: To detect previously that resistors are overheated and burnt to generate the unoperatable state, the vehicle fire, and so on and prevent them safely, by performing tap switching control without electric arc.
CONSTITUTION: The main circuit current dependent upon the operation of the tap switch is detected by current detector 26 and is subjected to level conversion in 120, and presence or absence of the current is detected by no-current detector 121. In case that no-current is detected by 26 though this main circuit is operated and the tap switch is stopped in a prescribed position, control circuit 101 is faulty and a current is not given to thyristors 16 and 17. When the gate signal is given to thyristors 18W21, the main circuit current is flowed through thyristors 18 and 19 or 20 and 21. When this state continues for a set time by delay circuit 122 or more, operation stopping circuit 125 operates to stop circuit 101 forcedly. As a result, it is detected previously that resistors are overheated and burnt to generate the unoperatable state, the vehicle fire, and so on, so that they can be prevented safely.
