Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a wide-variable range resistance attenuator by adding a resistance, which is connected in parallel to a PIN diode, and another diode to a L- type variable resistance attenuator constituted by the PIN diode. CONSTITUTION:Resistance 15 is connected in parallel to PIN diode 14, and the cathod of PIN diode 16 is connected to the cathode side of diode 14. A L-type circuit is constituted by diodes 14 and 16, and the sum of the current flowed to diodes 14 and 16 becomes constant approximately by setting voltage Vy of voltage supply terminal 24 fixed. When voltage Vx applied to terminal 23 is changed, the current flowed to diodes 14 and 16 can be reduced or increased dependently upon the relation between Vy and Vx, and the attenuation quantity of this attenuator can be changed. Meanwhile, if the value of resistance 15 is made approximately equal to load impedance 17, the matching of input impedance can be held well. As a result a variable resistance attenuator which has a wide variable range of the attenuation quantity can be obtained.
