Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a voltage control variable attenuator of high performance by canceling the unneeded resistance component of a base-side resistance by a negative resistance and by eliminating an influence of an electric current amplification factor not by a transistor but by a diode. CONSTITUTION:Amplifiers 16 and 17 with negative resistance provided, using inverted input terminals as negative resistance terminals, provide feedback from output terminals to uninverted input terminals by way of resistances 22 and 23. Diodes 18 and 19, even in electric characteristics, have internal resistances. To cancel those internal resistances, diodes 18 and 19 are connected at their anodes to negative resistance input terminals of amplifiers 20 and 21. Varying voltage Vc applied to amplifier 17 of this circuit varies biases of diodes 18 and 19, attenuating output voltage VO developed at the output terminal of amplifier 16.
