Abstract

PURPOSE:To facilitate precision alignment of optical fibers and optical guides by providing optical fiber guide grroves by photo resist film comprising drawing optical guide patterns on the dye-containing high polymer film on a mold. CONSTITUTION:When a high polymer film 4 containing dyes and fixer for dyes is coated on a mold followed by superposing a mask pattern on the film 4 and subjecting the film to ultraviolet exposure, then the dyes fix at the exposed part, becoming transparent. Thereby, an optical guide pattern 5 by the dyes is formed. If with this pattern 5 as a reference, alignment of optical fibers 3 is performed while observing with a microscope, precision alignment between optical fibers and optical guides may be readily performed. The similar results may also be obtained by superposing the masked optical guide pattern on the photo resist film on the mold and forming optical fiber guide grooves on the photo resist film through exposure and cleaning.
