Abstract
PURPOSE:To facilitate the positioning when the reading starts and then increase the accuracy of the running operation by forming the optical spot raw on the original surface in the front of run of the manual reading device, thus ensuring the assured reading of the pictures. CONSTITUTION:Guide roller 9 and spherical roller 10 are provided to the manual reading device in order to increase the straight running performance of the reading device. The optical system which includes tubular lamp 11, shielding plate 12 having plural numbers of pores 14 through which the light from lamp 11 passes, and plural numbers of lenses 13 formed on transparent plastic plate 15, is provided to the manual reading device. As a result, plural optical spots can be formed on original 8 which is in front of run of the reading device. Thus the positioning can be facilitated between the running direction of the reading device and original 8 owing to existence of the plural spots when the reading device is set at the starting position. As a result, the accuracy is increased for the running operation, at the same time assuring the reading of the pictures.
