Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain satisfactory heat transfer performance and reduce pressure loss by providing a gas cooling section for collecting non-condensed gas in an upper portion and positively utilizing heat transfer in film-like portions.
CONSTITUTION: Cooling water led from a cooling tower is caused to temperature flow into a cooling water chamber 8 and thence rise through cooling water distributing pipes 9 so that it flows through control ducts 10 and is jet in the formof a column from respective jet nozzles 11. The cooling water issuing from each of the jet nozzles 11 is caused to attach itself to a liquid film forming plate 12 and flow therealong, and even after it leaves the plate it flows in the form of a sector-shaped thin film. At a certain point, it divides itself intodroplets floating within the condensor and gradually falling into a hot well. Meanwhile, steam flowing through a turbine exhaust gas inlet into the body 1 of the condensor is quickly and greatly reduced in volume due to direct contact with cooling water and flows toward the cooling water distributing pipes 9 provided in a lower part of the condenser.
