Abstract

NEW MATERIAL:Gulcosamine derivatives of formulaI(R is lower alkyl; n is 0, 1-9; R1 is H or R when n is 0 and H or amino, when n is 1-9; R2 is R; R3-4 are H, R, or hydroxymethyl respectively; R5-6 are carboxyl groups that may be amidized) or their salts.
EXAMPLE: 2-(2-Acetamide-2-deoxy-6-0-glycyl-D-glucose-3-0-yl)-D-propionyl-L-alanyl-D- isoglutamine.
USE: They are useful as synthetic intermediates for anti-infective, carcinostatic and other glucosamine derivatives and show low toxicity and good activity increasing immunological functions.
PREPARATION: The condensation reaction between a compound of formula II (R7 is H or protecting group; R3'-6' are R3-6 where carboxyl or hydroxyl groups are protected) and a compound of formula III (Y is group protecting amino group) is conducted and then protecting groups are removed to produce the objective compound of formulaI.
