Abstract
PURPOSE: To reduce the corrosion of aluminium even under a corrosive condition by the procedure in which a nickel layer is provided on the junction of connection portion by an electric plating method and then a copper layer or a silver layer is provided at a place inward more than 4 mm from the outer edge of the nickel layer.
CONSTITUTION: When aluminium twisted wire is fastened with clamp to the wire insertion hole 3 formed in the cylindrical portion 4 of an aluminium terminal of a battlebore shape, and also the copper terminal of an apparatus is fastened with bolt to the battlebore-shaped portion 2, a nickel layer is electrically plated onto the junction of the battlebore-shaped portion 2, and then a copper layer or a silver layer is plated only on a nickel surface portion more than 4 mm from the outer edge of the nickel layer. Since, thus, the copper layer is isolated from the aluminium on the outside surface exposed to corrosive environment, the electrolytic corrosion between copper and aluminium can be suppressed, thus greatly reducing the corrosion at plated border portion.
