Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide an antibacterial agent having strong synergistic effect, a braod antibacterial spectrum to gram-negative- and gram-positive bacteria including Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and low side effects; containing specific D(-)-penicillin analogs and aminoglycoside antibiotics.
CONSTITUTION: An antibacterial composition containing (A) a D(-)-penicillin analog of formula (R1 is H, hydroxy, lower alkyxycarbonyloxy, acyloxy; R2 is H, halogen, nitro; R3 is lower alkyl; n is 1, 2), e.g. 6-[D-(-)-α-(4-ethyl-2, 3-dioxo-1- piperazinocarbonylamino)-p-(ethoxycarbonyloxy)phenylacetamido]penicillanic acid, and (B) an aminoglycoside antibiotic such as kanamycin, deoxykanamycin, etc. The ratio of (A) to (B) is 200:1-1:2, usually 100:1-1:1, and pref. 50:1;30:1.
