Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the safety by means of a no-load detector adapted to shut off the power supply to the heating coil by accurately detecting whether the load to the heating coil is zero or close to the zero. CONSTITUTION:This induction heating apparatus is equipped with a heating coil 1, a switching circuit 2 for feeding power to the coil, a detecting coil 3 for detecting resonance frequency F in a resonance circuit including the heating coil, a switching control ciruit 4 and frequency difference measuring circuit 5. The ferquency difference measuring circuit is composed of a comparator 6, a refrence signal generating circuit 7 and an output meter 8 so as to determine a deviation between a detected frequency by the detecting coil based on a resonance frequency of the resonance circuit when a given maximum load is connected to the heating coil 1. When the deviation exceeds a fixed value, the circuit 4 shuts off the power supply to the coil 1.
