Abstract

PURPOSE: To regulate exactly the temperature of molten pig iron in furnace without time lag by providing a temperature detector at the tuyere near the molten pig iron exhaust port of blast furnace and by regulating the conditions of air blowing for the tuyere according to the detected temperature.
CONSTITUTION: The temperature detector 3, e.g., a thermocouple, etc., is buried in the tuyere 2 of the blast furnace 1. The detection signal of the temperature of molten pig iron near the tuyere, detected by the detector 3, is changed from voltage signal into current one by the converter 4, and then the signal is put in the controller 6 through the computer 5. In case where the detected temperature of tuyere is lower, the signal is sent to the regulating valve 8 for fuel in order to increase the flow rate of fuel from the fuel tank 7, whereas in case where the detected temperature is too high, the flow rate of fuel is reduced. And, the signal of the controller 6 is sent to the air blower 10 in order to reduce or increase the flow rate of air to the air-heating furnace 9, whereby the temperature of hot air blown into blast furnace from the air-heating furnace 9 is risen or lowered to uniform the temperature of molten pig iron in the furnace without any time lag.
