Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide an anode member by which current outflow is controller in secondary electrocoloring of A material to prevent uneven coloring, by anodizing a member made of Zr or its alloy in an electrolytic soln. at a predetermined high voltage.
CONSTITUTION: An anode member made of Zr alloy such as zircaloy or Zr, most suitably zircaloy is anodized in an electrolytic soln. such as about 10W20% sulfuric acid soln. or about 3W5% oxalic acid soln. with DC or AC at a high voltage above usual alumite treatment voltage, pref. 50W130 V for about 20 min to form an anodic oxide film on the surface. The resulting anode member has good characteristics equal or superior to an Al anode member in secondary electrocoloring of Al products, and the member elongates its life.
