Abstract

CONSTITUTION: Al or Al alloy with an anodic oxide film formed is subjected to AC electrolysis in an aqueous sulfuric acid soln. at 4W20A/dm2 high current density. Thus, the oxide film is separated into parts which are easily colored and difficultly colored by electrolytic coloring, and by carrying out electrolytic coloring in a metal salt soln., a pepper-and-salt pattern having a speck distribution is obtd. The coarseness of the formed pattern depends upon the current density of the AC electrolysis and becomes maximum at about 8W11A/dm2 density.
