Abstract

PURPOSE: To color the material to be frosting or polka dot patterns by anodizing Al(alloy) to form oxide films then subjecting the same to AC electrolysis in the suspension or emulsion containing metal ions and containing elevtrodeposition hampering material of said metal ions.
CONSTITUTION: Al(alloy) is anodized by an ordinary method to form oxide films. Next, the Al(alloy) having the oxide films as one pole is subjected to AC electrolysis in the undermentioned solution with an Al or stainless steel plate as other pole. Namely, the suspension or the emulsion containing metal ions (e.g., Ni2+, Cu2+) and electrodeposition hampering material for said metal ions (e.g., kaolin, silicone oil). With this method, the suspension deposits on the anodized films through electrophoresis and the electrodeposition of metal ions is hampered at these portions and therefore the surface of, e.g., a colored ground 1, is colored to patterns of white specks 2.
