Abstract

PURPOSE: To color and form patterns easily on the surface of an aluminum material which is formed with an anodic oxidation film through primary electrolytic treatment, by applying AC voltage between said aluminum material and electrodes formed to a pattern shape in an aq. metallic salt soln.
CONSTITUTION: A plate-like electrode member 4 laminated with sheet metals 4b, for example, Ni for electrodes having desired patterns on a printed substrate 4a made of a synthetic resin is installed in an electrolytic cell 1 contg. an aq. soln. of NiSO4.6H2O as an electrolyte 2. An aluminum material 3 formed with an anodic oxidation film by a primary electrolytic treatment is installed thereon. A liquid permeable insulator 5, for example, silk of about 0.1mm thickness, is interposed between the material 3 and the material 4. A weight 6 is placed on the material 3. Thence, AC voltage of about 1A/dm2 is applied between the material 3 and the metal for electrode 3b. Thereby, the reversal patterns of the metals 4b are colored and formed on the surface of the material 3.
