Abstract

PURPOSE: To form a mirror surface with high smoothness without leaving oxide film by a method wherein positive and negative voltage is applied mutually in a specific cycle to a material to be polished within an electrolysis bath.
CONSTITUTION: A material to be polished comprising an Al metal (alloy) is used one electrode and positive voltage is applied to the said material in an electrolysis bath such as a phosphoric acid bath, a sulfuric acid bath or the like for 10W60sec., thereafter negative voltage is applied for 5W30sec. If this mutual electrolysis is repeated for a constant period, oxide film is not completely left on a polished surface and a mirror surface with remarkably high smoothness is formed.
