Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform one-side plating by flowing upwards molten metal by an electromagnetic repulsion in order to contact the rising portion of bath with the one side of steel plate by providing a low frequency induction device at the side and bottom portions of bath by turning the fireproof block side upwards. CONSTITUTION:The low frequency induction device 11 consists of the iron core 12, the primary coil 13 surrounding the iron core, and the fireproof block 15 with the U-shaped secondary groove 14 on the outside of the coil. When the fireproof block 15 is attached to the side and bottom portions of bath by turning its side 16 upwards, an electromagnetic repulsion is induced radially in ralation to the primary coil 13 in the molten metal and thereby the surface of bath is risen to contact it with the lower side of the steel plate being transported. The flow of the molten metal is expelled aslant upwards or sidewards at both ends of the steel plate 1 and thus the inflow of it to the upper surface of steel plate is avoided. And, when the rising portion of the bath surface comes into contact with the lower surface of steel plate 1, the rising of the bath surface is continued until the steel plate is turned by the roll 8 due to the wettability of the steel plate 1 and the speed of the steel plate 1. Thus, good one side plating can be performed.
