Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the flowage of plating metal to non-plated surface of steel plate by fluidizing metal of bath surface in contact with the both ends of steel plate in a direction further away from the steel plate when plating the one side of strip steel plate running on the surface of a molten metal. CONSTITUTION:The only one side of the strip steel plate 1 in contact with the metal bath 2 is plated by introducing the strip steel plate 1 deprived of oxides, etc., on its surface to the surface of the molten bath 2 for plating of Zn, etc., by means of the rollers 3 and 4. In this case, the movable magnetic field generators 5 and 6 are provided in the molten bath 2 in such a way that their ends are outside the both ends of the steel plate. The coil of the movable magnetic field generators 5 and 6 is electrified to generate induction current in the metal bath, whereupon the action of the induction current and the magnetic field of the coil fluidizes molten metal in contact with the ends of the steel plate 1 in a direction further away from the ends of the steel plate, thus preventing completely the flowage of the plating metal 2 to the non-plated surface (upper face) of the steel plate 1.
