Abstract

PURPOSE: To make the promotion of reducing the inverter capacity by limiting an output current to below the prescribed value, with an output voltage control operated by the inverter circuit when switching the power source of the AC motor to the constant voltage type inverter device.
CONSTITUTION: An AC motor 10 is operated by a commercial power source 11 until a time t1, with a contactor 13 opened at the time of t1. This causes the motor to begin attenuating its terminal voltage with the level becoming zero at a time t2. Thereafter, with a contactor 14 made closing at a time t3, a rush current intends to flow into the motor from a condenser 17, when an inverter circuit 18 controls the zero voltage period to control the rush current. Consequently, an input current to the motor is limited to the prescribed level and reduced to below the prescribed level by the time t4. After the time t4, the output voltage control of the inverter device 12 is switched from the inverter 18 to a rectifier. In this way, the suppression of output current of the constant voltage type inverter device 12 to below the prescribed value can provide a low cost device without an increase of capacity of the inverter circuit 18.
