Abstract

PURPOSE: To solidity solid radioactive waste and dry-refined nonferrous waste with asphalt or thermoplastic synthetic resin.
CONSTITUTION: A filtration assistant, powdery or granular iron exchange resin, solid radioactive waste flakes or a mixture of them is mixed with molten asphalt or thermoplastic synthetic resin and slag such as dry-refined nonferrous waste at a temperature of about 150 to 200°C. Then, the mixture is put in a container as the asphalt or thermoplastic synthetic resin remains molten. The mixture is cooled and solidified.
