Abstract
PURPOSE:One side of a steel plate is coated with ultraviolet or electron beam curable resin and the resin is cured, and the coated steel plate is immersed into terne alloy bath, whereby only the uncoated surface is plated with the alloy, providing economically continuous, alloy plated, steel plate. CONSTITUTION:Steel plate 1 is supplied from the payoff roll 2 and its non-plating side is coated with an ultraviolet curable resin using the coater 3. The ocated resin is subjected to ultraviolet radiation from a high pressure mercury lamp 4 and cured. The one-side cured-resin-coated steel plate 1 is then immersed in terne alloy bath 5, in which the alloy reacts with only the resin-uncoated steel surface to cover this surface while the other resin-coated surface is left unplated. The terne alloy plating bath is maintained at a temperature of 300 to 400 deg.C so that thermal damage to the cured resin will not occur. The cured resin which has served for sealing is easily removed in next bonding process by treating for several seconds with 5 to 10% NaOH solution at a temperature of 70 to 90 deg.C.
