Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a zinc plated steel plate of superior blackening resistance and intergranular corrosion resistance by applying zinc hot dipping on a steel plate and treating the same with an alkali metallic carbonate type soln. then applying zinc electroplating.
CONSTITUTION: A steel plate is applied with hot dipping of zinc or zinc-based alloy ad is treated with a 1W10% soln. of alkali metallic carbonate (Na salt or K salt), whereby the oxide on the surface is dissolved away. After this pretreatment, a plating layer is formed to about ≥0.3μ thickness by zinc electroplating. Accordng to this method, blackening and intergraular corrosion are considerably improved. since the steel plate surface is coated with zinc of high purity, the chemical conversion treatability equal to that of a zinc electroplated steel plate is obtained.
