Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the amount of tin plating and provide excellent weldability by a method wherein after electroplating a cold-rolled steel plate with tin to a specified thickness, a specified amount of chromium is deposited on the electroplated surface by a heat treatment and a chemical treatment. CONSTITUTION:The cold-rolled steel plate is electroplated with tin in an amount of 1.12-2.8g/m<2>. The tin-plated steel plate is subjected to the heat treatment at a temperature higher than or not higher than the melting point of tin. The heat treatment may be omitted in some cases. Then, the plate is subjected to the chemical treatment in a bath or the like containing Cr<6+> as a main constituent, thereby depositing chromium in the amount of 0.5-5mg/m<2> on the surface of the plate.
