Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain steel products with superior corrosion resistance, workability and adherence of paint films by forming a Ni plated layer on each surface of zinc- plated steel products and further forming a chromate film. CONSTITUTION:Each of steel products plated with zinc by electroplating, hot dipping, vacuum deposition, etc. is electroplated with Ni and further treated with a chromic acid soln., etc., forming a chromate film. The amt. of Ni plated is pref. about 0.005-5.0g/m<2>, and that of the chromate film attached about 0.001-5.0g as Cr. By this method zinc-plated steel products for coating are obtd. which show superior adherence of paint films.
