Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a steel plate for vessels of the peformance that sufficiently lends itself to a resistance welding can making system by specifying the layer thickness of Ni plating, the coating weight of chromate coating treatment, the atom ratio of O and S, and the ratio of Cr-O type at the time of applying the former then the latter on the steel plate.
CONSTITUTION: Ni plating of 0.01W0.30μ thicknesses is applied on the surface of a steel plate to improve its corrosion resistance. Following to this, chromating of 2W20mg/m2 coating weights is applied thereto in order to improve the corrosion resistance after painting, wherein the S/O in the film thereof is kept at ≤0.15 and the Cr-O type coupling/Cr-OH type all coupling of the coating surface is kept at ≥0.90. To this end, cathodic treatment is accomplished in aqueous solns. of Cr acid of about ≤1/40 SO4 -2/Cr+6 and about ≤1.5pH or Cr acid and di-Cr acid salt of about ≥1.5pH, respectively at about ≤7.5A/dm2 current density under no limination. A presrcibed amount of the resultant film is further subjected to high-temp. water treatment for about 0.3W 10sec. at about ≥4pH and about 65W100°C, so that the less elution of Cr+6, SO4 -2 in the film, the dehydration and condensation reaction of colloidal Cr+3 hydroxide, etc. are accelerated.
