Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1.装飾を目的として透明な材料の層の平坦な表面に接着するのに適したアッ プリケであって、上記アップリケが硬質の高分子材料の一層のみを含み、該硬質 の高分子材料の層が透明で且つ目視可能な混在物を含まず、平坦な裏面およびそ れとは反対側の前面を有し、該前面が、該裏面と概ね平行で且つリップル模様、 虫食い模様、鎚打ち模様、モス模様、フレミッシュ模様、グルーチップ模様、及 びバロック模様から成る模様付きのガラスに典型的に見られる表面模様のグルー プから選ばれた装飾的な表面模様を有する中央部を含み、上記前面が、また、上 記模様付き表面部分を取り囲み且つ上記模様付き表面部分から上記裏面に延びる 傾斜のついた表面部を有する上記アップリケ。 2.上記高分子材料が、1.35〜1.65の屈折率を有し、且つ可塑化ポリ 塩化ビニル、ポリカーボネート、酢酸セルロースブチレート、メチルメタクリレ ート及びポリスチレンから成るグループから選ばれる請求項1に記載のアップリ ケ。 3.上記裏面に沿い且つ上記裏面を完全に被覆する感圧接着剤の層をさらに含 み、該感圧接着剤の層が目視可能な混在物を含まない請求項1に記載のアップリ ケ。 4.上記シートが上記前面と上記裏面との間に少なくとも0.023インチの 厚みを有する請求項1に記載のアップリケ。 5.上記シートが上記前面と上記裏面との間に約0.076インチの厚みを有 し、且つ上記傾斜のついた表面部が上記模様付きの表面部に対して約1 70度の角度で配置された請求項1に記載のアップリケ。 6.第1及び第2の主表面を有する透明な材料のシートと;硬質の高分子材料 の一つの層のみを含むアップリケとの組合せにおいて、該硬質の高分子材料の層 が透明で、目視可能な混在物を含まず、平坦な裏面及び反対側の前面を有し、上 記前面が、上記裏面に対しほぼ並行でかつリップル模様、虫食い模様、鎚打ち模 様、モス模様、フレミッシュ模様、グルーチップ模様及びバロック模様から成る 模様つきのガラス上によく見られる表面模様のグループから選ばれた装飾的な表 面模様を有する中央部を含み、上記前面が、上記模様つき表面部を取り囲み且つ 上記模様つき表面部から上記裏面に延びる傾斜のついた表面部;および上記透明 材料層の上記第一表面に前記アップリケの上記裏面を接着する感圧接着剤の層を 含み、該接着剤の層が上記裏面に沿って且つ該裏面を完全に覆い、目視可能な混 在物を含まないものである、シートとアップリケの組合せ。 7.上記シートがガラスである請求項6に記載の組合せ。 8.上記シートが窓の一部である請求項6に記載の組合せ。 9.上記シートが、上記第2表面上に反射材料のコーティングを有する請求項 7に記載の組合せ。 10.上記シートが高分子材料である請求項6に記載の組合せ。 11.上記高分子材料が、可塑化ポリ塩化ビニル、ポリカーボネート、酢酸セ ルロースブチレート、メチルメタクリレート及びポリスチレンから成るグループ から選ばれる請求項6に記載の組み合わせ。 12.装飾を目的として透明材料層の平坦な表面に接着させるのに適したアッ プリケ形成方法であって、 模写したい形状のカットガラス片を形成するステップであって、伝統的なガラ ス加工方法を使用して望ましい表面模様をガラス片の前面の中央部上に設けるス テップ、 該カットガラス片の前面を無電解銀でめっきして該前面を導電性にし、さらに 前面を電気めっき法によりニッケルの厚いコーティングで覆うステップ、 該カットガラス片を金属のコーティングから分離するステップ、及び 該金属コーティングを、カットガラス片の前面の形状に対応し且つカットガラ ス片の表面模様の鏡像である表面模様を有する鋳型として使用して、高分子材料 の層上に、カットガラス片の前面の形状に対応する前面を形成するステップを含 む上記アップリケ形成方法。 13.上記金属コーティングの使用ステップが、金属コーティングを射出成形 法における鋳型の一部として使用することを含む請求項12に記載の方法。 14.上記金属コーティングの使用ステップが、金属コーティングをダイとし て使用し、加熱した高分子材料の固体層に該ダイを圧迫し、次いで高分子材料の 該固体層を加圧下で冷却してカットガラス片の前面を複製すること、及びカット ガラス片の外周に一致するように高分子材料の層の外周をトリミングすることを 含む、請求項12に記載の方法。
