Abstract

(57)【要約】 【目的】 E・F継手は合成樹脂管の結合手段として最
適なものとされているが、発熱コイル(コイル状ニクロ
ム線)の取付成形の難しさ、あるいは電流供給のための
コンセントなどの付属部品の多さなど実用上の問題点が
あった。この発明はこれを解消したものである。 【構成】 熱可塑性合成樹脂製の継手内に、この継手材
と同質材樹脂と高周波誘電発熱体の短繊維または粉粒体
とを混練して形成した発熱層を配設して管継手が形成さ
れている。 【効果】 管継手に設けた発熱層に対して高周波電界発
生装置よりの高周波電界を照射することで接続部位を溶
融化できE・F継手に比べて作業性,経済性共にまさる
ものである。

【発明の詳細な説明】

【産業上の利用分野】この発明は高周波誘電発熱体を有
する合成樹脂管の管継手に関し、具体的には熱可塑性合
成樹脂製の管継手内に高周波誘電発熱体で形成した発熱
層を設けた管継手に係り、更に詳細には前記発熱層を管
継手材料と同質または親和性のある異質の材料と高周波
電界によって誘電熱を生ずる発熱材の短繊維または粉粒
体とを混練したものとして形成した高周波誘電発熱体を
有する管継手に関する。

【従来の技術】熱可塑性合成樹脂管の接合手段として
は、材質により異なるが接着法、融着法の外にパッキン
またはスリーブ等を用いた機械的接続法が一般的であ
る。
【0003】前記手段のうちに融着法にはウエルド法と
E・F継手法とがあり、ウエルド法は管継手の継手内面
と接合管の接合部を加熱溶融して両者を接合するもので
あり、E・F継手法とは管継手の継手内面にニクロム線
等の電熱線をコイル状に巻き付けて一体化しておき、こ
のニクロム線を発熱させて接手管との溶着を行うもので
ある。
【0004】上記したE・F継手法が熱可塑性合成樹脂
管の接手手段として最も確実なものとして認識されてい
るが、E・F継手法はE・F継手が高価であることに難
点があり、しかもE・F継手の製造方法が複雑で精度を
要するとの加工上の問題もあった。
【0005】例えば、ニクロム線を継手材と同質材で絶
縁被覆したものを冶具に巻き付け、それを金型にセット
して射出成形手段によってE・F継手が成形されてい
た。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】上記したE・F継手
は、E・F継手の成形時にコイル状ニクロム線(発熱コ
イル)が樹脂圧により移動したり断線したり、またリー
ド線の取り出し、ソケット,プラグ等電気への接続用コ
ンセント部が必要であり、しかも接合管との接続時の融
着時にリード線まで発熱するとかの問題点があった。

【課題を解決するための手段】この発熱は熱可塑性合成
樹脂製の管継手の継手の内面部に高周波誘電発熱層を配
設し、この発熱層に高周波電界を照射することにより、
発熱層中の発熱体を誘電加熱し、この誘電熱を介して継
手と接合管の接合部を溶融化し両者を溶着接合させよう
とするものである。
【0008】この発明の基本的構成を図1により説明す
れば次のとおりである。図面中の符号10はこの発明に
係る高周波誘電発熱体を有する管継手であり、1は継
手,2は発熱層を表わしている。
【0009】継手1は熱可塑性合成樹脂材で形成されて
おり、発熱層2は継手1の内部の所用部位に配設されて
いる。発熱層2は図2に示すように、継手材1と同材料
または親和性のある異質の材料21と誘電性の発熱体で
形成した短繊維または粉粒体22とを混練した状態で成
形されている。
【0010】なお、上記管継手10は発熱層2と継手1
を一体成形して形成される場合と個別に成形した継手1
の所用部位に発熱層2を嵌着して形成してもよい。

【作用】この発熱は図3に示すように高周波誘電発熱体
を有する管継手10と接合管20の接合部位に高周波電
界発生装置Aより高周波電界を加熱電極Eを介して照射
し、これによって誘電加熱された発熱層2を介して両者
を融着結合させようとするものである。

【実施例】図4にこの発明に係る管継手の実施例が示さ
れている。同図は管継手10の継手1に接合管20,2
0を接続する場合を示したもので、継手1と同質材料で
形成されている合成樹脂管20,20のそれぞれの先端
を継手との接続部位まで挿着した状態で、高周波電源H
と電界発生電極(加熱電極)Eを有する高周波電界発生
装置Aを作動させて継手の発熱層2を誘電加熱し、この
熱によって接続部位を溶融化し、継手1と接続管20,
20とを溶着状の固化接続が得られる。
【0013】なお、この種の接続に際しては継手および
接合管のそれぞれの自由端にまで溶融化を及ぼさないた
め継手1内に設けた発熱層2のそれぞれの自由端側には
所定巾の非発熱層部C,Cの存在することが望ましい。
【0014】ここで、発熱層2中の発熱材の短繊維また
は粉粒体22の粒度は、高周波加熱機能を有する発熱材
として高周波誘電加熱機能を有する誘電率の高いもので
あればよく、一般的には各種樹脂の強化と、成形性を考
慮して、0.2〜100マイクロメーター程度のものが
あれば好ましい。又、発熱層2の厚さは、管体の肉厚直
径等に適応させた任意の形状が選べるものであり、発熱
材の混合比も、1対1の重量比で充分である。
【0015】発熱材として最も良好なものの1つに、酸
化亜鉛(ZnO)ウィスカがあり、このウィスカは、強
酸,強アルカリ以外、化学的に安定であり、耐熱性も優
れている。また発熱材としては、酸化マグネシウム,酸
化硅素などがある。
【0016】また、図5から明らかなように高周波電界
発生装置Aは商用周波電力を用い、この電力を整流器、
高周波インバータ(高周波電源)Hを介して加熱電極E
より高周波電解を照射するものである。

【発明の効果】この発明は熱可塑性合成樹脂製の管継手
の継手内面に高周波誘電発熱体を内包する発熱層を配設
し、この発熱層に高周波電界を照射することでこの部位
とこの部位を接続部とする接合管の接続部を溶融化し、
溶着接合を行なわせるものであり、加工工程を単純化で
きるばかりでなく経済的である。
【0018】また、この発明は従来のP・V・C管のボ
ンド接着法による管継手と同一形状にてまた同時2色成
形により極めて製造工程を簡単に出来、しかもE・F継
手よりもより確実にその上E・F継手で必要としていた
リード線やプラグの必要がなく、全体形状もシンプルな
ものとして提供できるものである。

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 【請求項1】 熱可塑性合成樹脂製の管継手の継手内に
    高周波誘電発熱体で形成した発熱層を付設したことを特
    徴とする高周波誘電発熱体を有する管継手。
  2. 【請求項2】 請求項1記載の発熱層を、継手と同質材
    料または親和性のある材料と高周波誘電発熱体材料の短
    繊維または粉粒体とを混練して形成したことを特徴とす
    る高周波誘電発熱体を有する管継手。
  3. 【請求項3】 請求項1記載の発熱層を継手に対して着
    脱自在に形成したことを特徴とする高周波誘電発熱体を
    有する管継手。
  4. 【請求項4】 請求項1記載の高周波誘電発熱体を有す
    る管継手に接合管等を結合に際して前記両部材の接続部
    位を高周波電界発生装置よりの高周波電界を照射して、
    この部位を溶融し溶着固化させることを特徴とした管継
    手方法。
