Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 産業上の利用分野 本発明は、熱収縮性フィルムの開口部を溶着する装置に
関するものである。
従来の技術 近来電池の包装形態は複数個の電池を一単位とし熱収縮
性のフィルムにより包装され、市場に供給されることが
非常に多くなって来ている。
従来、この種のフィルムは、第4図及び第5図に示すよ
うに滑めらかな表面を持つウェルディングローラ12と、
超音波溶着装置の主部品である厚み方向に円みを持つ溶
着ホーン15との間に、電池を中にはさんで長さ方向に二
つ折にされたフィルム13を連続的に移動させることによ
り線状の溶着がなされてきた。
発明が解決しようとする問題点 しかしながら、この装置による溶着ではフィルム相互の
溶着強度が低い為、フィルムが溶着部より破損する原因
となっていた。
また、第6図及び第7図に示すように表面の一部に円周
に沿って厚み方向に溝を持つウェルディングローラ14と
先端部の形状として厚み方向に平滑である溶着ホーン1
とによる溶着も試みられた。この場合溶着部の強度は増
すが、その一方で溶着と同時に溶着部外側におけるフィ
ルム切断が出来ず、残存フィルムの処理が困難であると
いう問題があった。
本発明は、上記欠点に鑑み、溶着強度が大きく、かつ溶
着部外側におけるフィルムの切断が同時に可能な熱収縮
性フィルムの溶着装置を提供するものである。
問題点を解決するための手段 本発明は、熱収縮性フィルムの開口側端部を、円周に沿
って厚み方向の複数本の溝、ならびにこの溝と近接して
その外側に円周方向の1本の溝を持つウェルディングロ
ーラと、厚み方向に平滑である溶着ホーンとの間に、前
述のフィルムの開口側端部を連続移動させることによ
り、溶着強度が大で、かつ溶着部外側の残存フィルムの
切断を可能にする構成である。
作用 このような本発明の溶着装置では、熱収縮性フィルムの
開口部の封口と、余剰残存フィルムの切断除去とを同時
に行えるものである。
実施例 以下、本発明を実施例によって詳細に説明する。第1図
はフィルムの溶着を行なう装置の概略図である。ウェル
ディングローラ2はタイミングプーリー3を介して、タ
イミングベルト8により駆動されている。ウェルディン
グローラ2はその円周に沿って厚み方向の複数の溝17及
びこれに近接してその外側に円周方向の溝18を有し、そ
のさらに外側は平滑面19をなしている。このウェルディ
ングローラ2と厚み方向に平滑な溶着ホーン1との間
を、電池を中にはさみ、長さ方向に二つ折にされたフィ
ルム5をタイミングベルト6により連続移動させる。
ウェルディングローラ2とホーン1との接触部におい
て、電池を中にはさんだフィルム9の開口側端部は厚み
方向の溝17とホーンとの間で部分的に間欠溶着され、溝
18の部分を残してローラ平滑面19と溶着ホーン1との対
向部分でもホーンの占める幅だけ溶着されて余剰と残存
フィルム10は切断され、フィルム9はタイミングベルト
6で後工程に送られ、余剰残存フィルム10は送りローラ
4−1、4−2により他の部分へ送り出される。
第2図及び第3図は、本発明の溶着のための装置の具体
例であり、ウェルディングローラ2と溶着ホーン1との
位置関係図及びフィルム開口部側の溶着の状態を示した
図である。ウェルディングローラ2は、前述のようにそ
の円周に沿って厚み方向の複数の溝17と円周方向の1本
の溝18及び平滑面19を有している。円周方向に沿って厚
み方向に設けた複数の溝17は、通常円形又は矩形の谷を
有し、この谷とローラ表面の山の部分との間隔はほぼ等
しく設けてある。溝の深さと溝の幅は、各々フィルム厚
さの10〜20倍の寸法を設定する。円周方向に設けた1本
の溝18は、平滑面19の端部側において、直角な端面を有
し、その溝幅は溶着ホーン1と接触する幅の1/2〜1/4に
設定する。上記ウェルデイングローラ2と溶着ホーン1
の接触位置は、円周方向に沿った厚み方向の溝17と円周
方向の溝18と平滑面19の3者に接触する位置に設ける。
第2図で説明したウェルディングローラ2及び溶着ホー
ン1との間にフィルム9を連続移動させた状態が第3図
である。第3図においてフィルム9では、溝17と溝18及
び溶着ホーン1の先端に対応した平滑面19とにより、破
線状及び線状の溶着が同時になされ、フィルム10では線
状の溶着がなされ、溝18の直角な端面部分でフィルム9
とフィルム10に切断される。
発明の効果 本発明によれば、溶着部の強度を増すことが出来、引張
り強度で従来比の1.5〜2倍の強度が得られた。又、溶
着によるフィルムの同時切断が可能であるため、他にフ
ィルム切断のための付属装置を不要とすることができ
る。

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 【請求項1】厚み方向に丸みをもつ超音波溶着ホーン
    と、同一面の一端に厚み方向に伸びる複数本の溝とこれ
    に近接して円周方向に伸びる溝と平滑面とを設けたウェ
    ルディングローラとを備え、熱収縮性フィルムの開口側
    端部を、前記超音波溶着ホーンとウェルディングローラ
    との間に連続移動させ、破線状および線状に溶着すると
    同時に前記平滑面による溶着部の外側で余剰残存フィル
    ムを切断することを特徴とする熱収縮性フィルムの溶着
    装置。
