Description
Claims (2)
- 1.ディスクリート・コサイン変換(DCT)オペレーションを行うことにより 、送信のための入力画素データのブロックおよび、前記ブロックを構成するサブ ブロツクの少なくとも1つの所定レベルの前記サブブロツクを、DC(最低周波 数)およびAC(交流)のDCT係数値の対応するイメージブロックおよびサブ ブロツクを生成するように圧縮するためのアダプティプ.ブロックサイズ・イメ ージ圧縮システムであって、前記DCT係数値の各イメージブロックおよびイメ ージサブブロツクの対応する各グループのために決定し、所定のコーディングフ ォーマットに基づき、各々にエンコードされた前記イメージブロックおよび前記 DCT係数値のイメージサブブロツクの対応する前記各グループに関する必要と されるピット数を表すビットカウントを決定する事と、前記イメージブロックお よび前記DCT係数値のイメージサブブロツクの対応する前記各グループを、前 記ピットカウントから、所定のコーディングフォーマットに基づき、必要とされ る更に少ない数のピット数を決定する事と、1つの合成イメージブロックを形成 するため、前記コード化フォーマットに基づきエンコードするために要するより 少ない数のDCT係数値の前記イメージブロックおよび前記イメージサブブロツ クの1つを選択する事と、所定のオーダリングフォーマットに基づき、前記合成 イメージブロックの前記DCT係数値をオーダリングする事と、所定の前記エン コーディングフォーマットに基づき、前記合成イメージブロックの前記オーダリ ングされたDCT係数値をエンコードする事と、 前記合成イメージブロックの前記イメージブロックおよび前記イメージサブブロ ツクの選択された1つを表す情報と共に、前記合成イメージブロックの、エンコ ードされ且つオーダーされた前記DCT係数値をアセンブルする事と、画素デー タの前記ブロックに更なる圧縮を与えるサブシステムと、 前記画素データの入力ブロックを受け取り、第一のディスクリート・コサイン変 換(DCT)オペレーションを画素ブロックで行い、DCおよびACのDCT係 数値の対応する第一のブロックを生成し、 前記DCおよびACのDCT係数の前記第一ブロックの前記DCのDCT係数で 第一の付加的なDCTオペレーションを伴う付加的DCTオペレーションを連続 して行い、結果としてDCおよびACのDCT係数の最終ブロックを生成する最 後の付加的DCTオペレーションを伴う付加的DCTオペレーションの結果とし てのDC係数値を獲得し、前記DCおよびACのDCT係数値の前記最終ブロッ クの出力を供給する、デスクリート・カドツリー(quadtree)変換手段 と、前記DCおよびACのDCT係数値の前記最終ブロックの各々を受け取り、 前記所定のコーディングフォーマットに基づきエンコードされる時、前記最終ブ ロックDCおよびACのDCT係数値の各々の長さを表す対応するコード長を生 成し、前記コード長の各々の値を、イメージブロックおよびイメージサブブロツ クの各々のためのDCのDCT係数の代わりに.前記ピットカウント決定におい て挿入するコード長決定手段であり、 前記イメージブロックおよび前記イメージサブブロツクの各々の1つが、前記コ ード長値を用いた前記合成イメージブロックのために選択され、 前記DCおよびACのDCT係数値の前記最終ブロックの各々を受け取り、 前記イメージブロックおよび前記イメージサブブロツクの選択された各々1つの DCのDCT係数を、前記最終ブロックのDCおよびACのDCT係数値の対応 する各々の1つに置き換える置換え手段と、 を具備することを特徴とするアダプティプ・ブロックサイズイメージ圧縮システ ム。
- 2.前記置換え手段は、更に、 前記最終ブロックDCおよびACのDCT係数値を、前記所定のオーダリングフ ォーマットに基づきオーダリングするためのオーダリング手段と、 前記最終ブロックDCおよびACのDCT係数値を、前記所定のエンコーディン グ形式に基づきエンコードするためのエンコーダ手段と、 を具備する前記サブシステムを有することを特徴とする請求項1に記載のアダプ ティプ・ブロックサイズ・イメージ圧縮システム。
