【発明の詳細な説明】
ポリエステル樹脂製びん用中間物
本発明は、ポリエステル樹脂製びん用の中間物に関する。
ポリエチレンテレフタレート(PETと略す)などのようなポリエステル樹脂製
のびんの製造においては、原則的に大別して2つの異なる製造法がある。第1の
方法においては、このような中間物は温かいうちに即時ブロー成型によってびん
に成型加工される。
第2の方法においては、中間物は一旦冷却された後に、いくつかの段階を経て、
最終製品としてびんに成型加工される前の状態となって、保管や運搬などの処理
に供される。すなわち、この中間物はポリエステル樹脂のガラス転移温度よりも
高温になる才で加熱されて、最終製品であるびんにブロー成型されるのである。
このため、ポリエステル樹脂の性質である2軸延伸が生じる。この性質はポリエ
ステル樹脂やPET製のびんにとって好ましい性質の1つである。
しかしながら、この第2の方法においては、中間物の運搬、保管、その他取扱い
時などに中間物が相互に衝突して、軽くとも表面の擦過傷などの損傷を生じると
いう問題が発生する。中間物のこのような表面の欠陥があると、最終製品のびん
に成型された後も表面に欠陥が残ることになる。
中間物を注意深く取扱うようにすれば、このような損傷を生じることは防げるが
、このようにすると非常に手間がかかり、びんの製造スピードやコストにも影響
することになる。
驚くべきことに、非常に簡単な処置を行うことによって、中間物が、中間物相互
の衝突によって生じる表面の損傷を実質的に全く生じないものとなることがわか
った。
本発明の目的は、前述のような損傷をこの非常に簡単な処置によって軽減するか
、または完全に損傷を防止するためのポリエステル樹脂製びん用中間物およびそ
の製造方法ならびに中間物から製造されるポリエステル樹脂製びんを提供するこ
とである8
本発明に従えば、ポリエステル樹脂製びん用中間物の表面に、ポリエステル樹脂
の摩擦係数を低下させる材料から成る被覆層が塗布される。
また、本発明に従えば、ポリエステル樹脂、特−に好ましくはポリエチレンテレ
フタレート製のびん用の中間物は、押出成型または射出成型によって一旦成型さ
れ、その後用いられるポリエステル樹脂の摩擦係数を低下させる材料から成る被
覆層が塗布されるという製造方法によって製造される。
被覆層には、ろう状または脂質性の各種材料を使用することが可能であるが、ポ
リエチレンワックス、ポリプロピレンワックス、パラフィンワックス、微結晶性
ワックス、油脂、脂肪および油分のいずれか一方、脂肪酸、シリコンオイルから
構成される物質群のうちから1つの材料が用いら、れることか好ましい、この物
質群に含まれる各材料は、中間物の表面を適性に保護し、かつ一般的にこの表面
に非常に容易に塗布することができるものである。さらに、これらの材料は、食
品に接触して用いてもよい物質としてその使用を認可されているものであるから
、この点からも何ら問題が生じることはない。
本発明における中間物から作られるびんは、その中間物がびんに成型加工される
際に表面に欠陥を生じることは少ないか、または全くないという長所を有するの
で、最終製品であるびんの外観上の美しさが格段に向上する。その上、被覆層を
塗布することは、ポリエステル樹脂製びんの加工や再生の際にも全く影響を与え
ない、この被覆層は、中間層に簡単に塗布することができ、安価である。
また、びんにラベルなどを貼付する場合においても問題はない。
被覆層を中間物に塗布する方法としては、いろいろな方法が可能である。たとえ
ば、中間物を被覆層を収容した槽に浸漬する方法が挙げられる。
また被覆層を含む液体を中間物に吹付は処理するという方法に処することも可能
である。ただし、最もむらのない被覆層を得ることが可能であるので、前者の檜
を用いた方法の方が望ましい。
本発明の実施においては、被覆層は液状で用いられるため、中間物に塗布される
水系のエマルジョンは任意に温められて用いられる。中間物および被覆液の温度
は、一般に10℃〜75℃とされる。エマルジョンは適当な濃度に希釈して用い
られ、好ましい固形分濃度は、0.01%〜1%重量比である。被覆層の量は濃
度により任意に調整される。
エマルジョンを塗布した中間物は、たとえば、外部から加熱することにより乾燥
される。この乾燥により中間物の処理が行われる。一度乾燥すると、中間物は運
搬や保管中の損傷の発生に対し著しく保護される。
被覆層の量は、通常、中間物の全表面積と被覆層の特性によって決まる。一般的
には、被覆層の量は、O,01mg〜0.1gである0本発明の被覆層は、ヨー
ロッパ特許出願番号79−215のように公知のポリエステル樹脂製びんへの塗
布と比較することはできない、この発明は、ポリエステル樹脂製びんの機械的特
性を改良するために塩化ビニリデンを塗布するものである。本発明は、最終製品
のびんに対し保護層を設けるものではないが、特に目に見える欠陥を防ぐために
中間物に処理を行うものである。
本発明では、最終製品のポリエステル樹脂製びんに連続的に樹脂あるいは他の被
覆層を塗布してはいない。
本発明による中間物は、従来の詰め替え可能で使い捨て可能なびんを成型する方
法で加工することができ、被覆層を塗布することは、ブロー成型の間における中
間物の加工には全く影響を与えない、従来法において、中間物は、たとえば赤外
線ヒータによりガラス転移温度(Tg)以上に加熱され、通常の方法で加工され
る。
以上に、比較例および実施例を説明する。
比較例
ポリエチレンテレフタレートの中間物は、適当な鋳型に射出成型することにより
製造された。これらの中間物は従来と同様に箱に詰められて保管や運搬が行われ
た。中間物の表面には、保管や運ブロー成型によりPET樹脂製びんを作製した
ところ、びんの表面に多数の欠陥が生じた。
実施例
比較例と同様の方法で、中間物を製造した。中間物は加熱しながら、水にポリエ
チレンワックスを0.5%分散させたエマルジョンを吹付けた。
乾燥後、比較例と同様の方法でびんを作製した。
これらのびんには、表面の欠陥の跡は認められなかった。びんの製造工程におい
ても全く問題はなかった。鋳型の中には中間物に塗布するために使用した被覆層
の付着物が生じたが、被覆層を塗布した中間物の加工に関しては、特に問題がな
かった。最終製品であるびんへの付着物による表面損傷は認められなかった。

Claims (9)
- (1)ポリエステルの摩擦係数を低下させる物質から残る被覆層を表面に塗布し たことを特徴とするポリエステル樹脂製びん用中間物。
- (2)前記被覆層は、ポリエチレンワックス、ポリプロピレンワックス、パラフ ィンワックス、微結晶性ワックス、油脂、脂質および油分のいずれか一方、脂肪 酸、シリコンオイルから成る物質群のうちから選ばれる一物質を主成分とするこ とを特徴とする請求項1記載のポリエステル樹脂製びん用中間物。
- (3)前記被覆層の量は0.01mg〜0.1gの間であることを特徴とする請 求項1または2記載のポリエステル樹脂製びん用中間物。
- (4)前記ポリエステル樹脂として、ポリエチレンテレフタレートが選ばれるこ とを特徴とする請求項1〜3のいずれかに記載のポリエステル樹脂製びん用中間 物。
- (5)用いられるポリエステル樹脂の摩擦係数を低下させるような物質の被覆層 を塗布したポリエステル樹脂製びん用中間物の製造方法であって、押出成型また は射出成型によって中間物を製造し、その後中間物に前記被覆層を塗布すること を含むことを特徴とするポリエステル樹脂製びん用中間物の製造方法。
- (6)前記被覆層は、被覆剤の水系エマルジョンを中間物に吹付け、またはその 被覆剤の水系エマルジョンに中間物を浸漬し、その後随意に吹付けまたは浸漬さ れた中間物を乾燥させることによって塗布されることを特徴とする請求項5記載 のポリエステル樹脂製びん用中間物の製造方法。
- (7)前記被覆層は、ポリエチレンワックス、ポリプロピレンワックス、パラフ ィンワックス、微結晶性ワックス、油脂、脂質および油分のいずれか一方、脂肪 酸、シリコンオイルから成る物質群のうちから選ばれる一物質を主成分とするこ とを特徴とする請求項5または6のいずれかに記載のポリエステル樹脂製びん用 中間物の製造方法。
- (8)前記ポリエステル樹脂はポリエチレンテレフタレートであることを特徴と する請求項5〜7のいずれかに記載のポリエステル樹脂製びん用中間物の製造方 法。
- (9)請求項1〜4のいずれかに記載のポリエステル樹脂製びん用中間物、また は請求項5〜8のいずれかに記載のポリエステル樹脂製びん用中間物の製造方法 によって製造された中間物から作られたポリエステル樹脂製びん。
