【発明の詳細な説明】 技術分野 本発明は、たとえば流体を輸送する鋼管の外周面にポリ
エチレンなどから成る熱可塑性被覆層が形成されて構成
された管体などの長手体および曲り体の被覆方法に関す
る。
背景技術 鋼管の外周面にポリエチレン製被覆層が形成されて構成
された直管体同志または被覆層の施されていない曲り管
体とを、溶接によってまたはねじなどによって接続する
際には、その接続部分付近で被覆層が除去される。接続
後においては被覆層から露出している鋼管を従来では、
粘着剤が一表面に付着されている合成樹脂製テープを巻
1寸けて保護しており、あるいはまた内面に粘着剤が付
着された熱収縮性を有する筒体をかぶせ、この筒体をバ
ーナなどを用いて加熱して被71層から露出している鋼
管およびその付近を保護している。
発明が解決すべき問題点 このような先行技術では、作業性が悪く、また作業に熟
練を必要とするとともに、また各作業者毎に気密性の品
質にばらつきを生じる。しかもまた熱、収縮性筒体を用
いる際にバーナなどを用い、したがって危険である。
本発明の目的は、作業性を向上し、各作業者毎の品質の
ばらつきをなくし、しかも安全性が向上された長手体お
よび曲り体の被覆方法を提供することである。
問題点を解決するための手段 本発明は、長手体本体の外周面に熱可塑性合成樹脂製被
覆層が形成されて構成された長手体および被覆層の施さ
れていない曲り体などの被覆方法において、 被覆層が除去されて露出している長手体本体の部分また
は被覆層の施されていない曲り体の部分と被覆層とに亘
ってそれらの外周面に熱可塑性き成樹脂製筒体をかぶせ
、 その筒体の少なくとも被覆層に重なる部分には導電体が
設けられ、 導電体を電力付勢して被覆層と筒体とを熱溶着すること
を特徴とする長手体および曲り体の′fl!i覆方法で
ある。
好ましい実施態様では、前記導電体は、導電性繊維であ
ることを特徴とする。
また好ましい実施態様では、前記導電体は、炭素繊維で
あることを特徴とする。
さらに好ましい実施態様では、前記導電体は、発熱線で
あることを特徴とする。
さらにまた好ましい実施態様では、前記被覆層と筒体と
の間にホットメルト接着剤を介在することを特徴とする
また好ましい実施態様では、前記筒体は、熱収縮性を有
することを特徴とする。
さらにまた好ましい実施態様では、前記筒体は、周方向
に分断されており、巻付けて周方向に無端状とすること
を特徴とする。
作  用 本発明に従えば、熱可塑性合成樹脂製筒体の少なくとも
被覆層に重なる部分には導電体が設けられており、した
がってこの導電体を電力付勢すると、導電体がジュール
熱を発生し、筒体と被覆層とが相互に熱溶着して気密的
に接続される。こうして被覆層で覆われている長手体本
体および曲り体の炭素繊維による補強作用が行われる。
実施例 第1図は、本発明の一実施例の断面図である。
流体を輸送する管体1は、長手体本体である鋼管2の外
周面にポリエチレンなどの熱可塑性合成樹脂材料から成
る被覆層3が形成されて構成される。
管体1は、もう1つの管体1aに接続され、対応する部
分には同一の数字に添字aを1寸して示す。
鋼管2.2aは、接続位置4において溶接によって気密
に接続される。、この接続される位置4とその付近では
、被覆NI3,3aは除去されてM4管2゜2aが露出
されている。この露出している鋼管2゜2aの部分と、
その付近の被覆層3,3aとに亘って、それらの外周面
には筒体5がかぶせられて気密に被覆される。
筒体5は熱可塑性合成樹脂製であり、たとえばポリエチ
レンおよびポリプロピレンなどの材料から成る。筒体5
は、後述のようにして被覆層3゜3aにそれぞれ気密に
熱溶着する。
第2図は第1図に示された実施例の手順を示すための断
面図である。筒体5によって、被覆層3゜3aから露出
している鋼管2,2aの部分を被覆するにあたっては、
まず第2図(1)で示されるように鋼管2.2aの接続
前に筒体5を一方の管体1に挿通しておく0次に、第2
図(2)に示されるように管体1.1aの鋼管2,2a
を溶接などによって接続する。その後、第2図(3)で
示されるように鋼管2.2aの接続位置4とその付近に
亘って筒体5を配置し、この筒体5と被覆層3.3aと
を熱溶着する。
第3図は筒体5と被覆層3とを熱溶着する工程を示す断
面図であり、第4図は導電体の各種の例を示す図である
。筒体5の内周面には、被覆層3と重なる長さI!1に
亘って導電体6が設けられる。
この導電体6は、たとえば炭素または金属などの導電性
の繊維から成る。
導電体6は、たとえば第4図(1)で示されるように細
長い複数の導電性繊維7が、筒体5の軸線方向に沿って
配置された構成であってもよく、あるいはまた第4図(
2)で示されるように長手導電性繊維8を編んだ!l!
Iっであってもよく、さらにはまた第4図(3)で示さ
れるように、導電性の短い繊維10が粉末状となって導
電体6を構成してもよい、導電体6は、筒体5の内周面
に接着剤を用いて接着され、または筒体5の内面付近に
一体成形され、あるいはまた筒体5および被覆層3とは
個別に、筒体5と被覆層3との間に介在されてもよい。
前述の第21J(3)で示されるように筒体5の端部が
被覆層3.3a上に配置された状態で、第3図に示され
るように導電体6の軸線方向両端にリード線11.12
または導電体の端部などを介して電源13を接続し、導
電体6を電力付勢し、ジュール熱を発生させる。電源1
3には直列にタイマ15が介在され、導電体6が電力は
勢される時間が設定される。導電体6が電力付勢されて
ジュール熱を発生すると、被覆層3と筒体5とが軟化な
いしは溶融して気密に熱溶着することができる。もう1
つの被覆層3aに関しても、同様に筒体5との熱溶着が
行われる。
筒体5は、熱収縮性を有するように構成してもよい、こ
れによって導電体6が電力は勢されて高温度となったと
き筒体5が収縮し、筒体5と被覆層3,3aとの熱溶着
が一層確実になる。
導電体6は、被覆層3,3aに重なる部分だけに設けら
れていてもよいけれども、この導電体6は筒体5の軸線
方向全長に亘って配置されていてもよい。
第5図は、本発明の池の実施例の筒体17の一部の断面
図である。筒体17は熱可塑性合成樹脂から成り、その
厚み方向の途中に導電体18が埋込まれた構成を有する
第6図は、本発明のさらに他の実施例の筒体1つの一部
の断面図である。この実施例では、熱可塑性き成樹脂製
筒体内に前述の第4図(3)で示された導電体の短い繊
維10が混在され、これによって筒体1つの全体が導電
性を有する。
第7図は、本発明のさらに他の実施例の被覆層3と筒体
20との熱溶着工程を示す断面図である。
前述の実施例の対応する部分には、同一の参照符をけす
。この実施例では、熱可ジ性合成樹脂製筒体20内には
、たとえばニクロム線などのような発熱線21がコイル
状に形成されて埋込まれている0発熱線21にリード線
11.12およびタイマ15を介して電源13に接続す
ることによって発熱線21が電力付勢されて発熱し、同
体2oと被覆層3との熱溶着が可能になる。
第8図は、本発明のさらに池の実施例の断面図である。
この実施例は前述の第3図の実施例に類似し、対応する
部分には同一の参照符を付す。注目すべきは、この実施
例では管体1の被覆層3と筒体5との各材料が異なって
おり、これら被覆層3と筒体5との直接的な熱溶着時の
強度が不充分である場合において、被覆層3と筒体5と
の間にホットメルト接着剤22を介在する。このホット
メルト接着剤22は、被覆層3との熱溶着によって大き
な強度が得られ、またホットメルト接着剤22と筒体5
との熱溶着によって大きな強度が得られる。このような
ホットメルト接着剤22は、加熱によって軟化または溶
融し、この状態で被覆層3および筒体5と熱溶着して接
続され、冷却によって固化する。ホットメルト接着剤2
2のベースボリマは、たとえばエチレン−酢酸ビニル共
重合体(略称EVA)などであってもよい。
第9図は、本発明の他の実施例の筒体23の斜視図であ
る。この筒体23は熱可塑性合成樹脂製であり、周方向
に分断されている。筒体23の両端部には、係止片24
.25が突設される。係止片24.25は、筒体23の
軸線方向に沿って延びる係止部材26によって係止され
る。この係止部材26の軸直角断面はC字状であり、係
止部材26に形成されている係止孔27内に係止片24
゜25が嵌り込んで筒体23の周方向の両端部が連結さ
れる。このような構成を有する筒体23を用いることに
よって、管体1,1aの鋼管2,2aの溶接などによる
接続後において、被覆層3,3aから露出している鋼管
2,2aの部分を筒体23で囲み、その後、係止片24
,25.係止部材26で連結すればよく、管体1,1a
に筒体23を外囲する作業が容易になる。筒体23には
、前述の実施例と同様に導電体22が設けられる。
第10図は本発明のさらに他の実施例の筒体28の斜視
図であり、第11図はこの筒体28によって管体1を被
覆した状態を示す軸直角断面図である。この同体28は
熱可塑性合成樹脂から成り、周方向分断されており、そ
の周方向の端部は参照符29.30で示される。筒体2
8の内周面には、導電体31が設けられる。管体1,1
aの鋼管2゜2aを溶接などによって接続した後に筒体
28をかぶせ、導電体31を電力付勢することによって
筒体28と被覆層3とが熱溶着されるとともに、その筒
体28の周方向両端部29.30もまた熱溶着される。
上述の各実施例では、筒体5と被覆層3との熱溶着に関
して主として説明を行ったけれども、もう1つの被覆層
3aとの熱溶着も全く同様である。
本発明は、鋼管だけでなく、その他の長手体本体および
曲り体の炭素繊維による補強作用などするために被覆を
行うことができる。
効  果 以上のように本発明によれば、作業性が向上され、また
各作業者毎の気密性などの品質の差がなくなり、被覆層
が除去されて露出している長手体本体の部分およびその
付近を気密的に被覆して保護することが可能になる。し
かも先行技術におけるバーナなどを使用する必要がなく
、安全性が向上される。

Claims (7)

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. (1)長手体本体の外周面に熱可塑性合成樹脂製被覆層
    が形成されて構成された長手体および被覆層の施されて
    いない曲り体などの被覆方法において、被覆層が除去さ
    れて露出している長手体本体の部分または被覆層の施さ
    れていない曲り体の部分と被覆層とに亘つてそれらの外
    周面に熱可塑性合成樹脂製筒体をかぶせ、 その筒体の少なくとも被覆層に重なる部分には導電体が
    設けられ、 導電体を電力付勢して被覆層と筒体とを熱溶着すること
    を特徴とする長手体および曲り体の被覆方法。
  2. (2)前記導電体は、導電性繊維であることを特徴とす
    る特許請求の範囲第1項記載の長手体および曲り体の被
    覆方法。
  3. (3)前記導電体は、炭素繊維であることを特徴とする
    特許請求の範囲第1項記載の長手体および曲り体の被覆
    方法。
  4. (4)前記導電体は、発熱線であることを特徴とする特
    許請求の範囲第1項記載の長手体および曲り体の被覆方
    法。
  5. (5)前記被覆層と筒体との間にホットメルト接着剤を
    介在することを特徴とする特許請求の範囲第1項記載の
    長手体および曲り体の被覆方法。
  6. (6)前記筒体は、熱収縮性を有することを特徴とする
    特許請求の範囲第1項記載の長手体および曲り体の被覆
    方法。
  7. (7)前記筒体は、周方向に分断されており、巻付けて
    周方向に無端状とすることを特徴とする特許請求の範囲
    第1項記載の長手体および曲り体の被覆方法。
