Description
本出願は2020年12月18日付韓国特許出願第10-2020-0178432号および第10-2021-0180292号に基づく優先権の利益を主張し、当該韓国特許出願の文献に開示されたすべての内容は本明細書の一部として含まれる。
酸性基を有して前記酸性基の少なくとも一部が中和したアクリル酸系単量体および内部架橋剤を含む単量体組成物を準備する段階(段階1);
疎水性粒子水分散液および炭酸塩系発泡剤の存在下で、前記単量体組成物を架橋重合して含水ゲル重合体を製造する段階(段階2);
前記含水ゲル重合体を乾燥および粉砕して粉末形態のベース樹脂を形成する段階(段階3);および
表面架橋剤の存在下で、前記ベース樹脂の表面を追加架橋して表面架橋層を形成して高吸水性樹脂を製造する段階(段階4)を含み、
前記疎水性粒子水分散液は疎水性粒子が界面活性剤によって分散しているコロイド溶液であり、
前記疎水性粒子は炭素数7~24の脂肪酸の金属塩を含み、
前記高吸水性樹脂は下記1)および2)を満たす、
高吸水性樹脂の製造方法を提供する:
1)24.0℃での吸収速度(vortex time)が40秒以下;および
2)前記高吸水性樹脂1gを水道水2Lに浸漬させて1分間膨潤させたとき1分間前記高吸水性樹脂に吸収される水の重量で定義される1分水道水吸収能が90g以上。
一実施形態による製造方法で、段階1は酸性基を有して前記酸性基の少なくとも一部が中和したアクリル酸系単量体および内部架橋剤を含む単量体組成物を準備する段階である。
R1-COOM1
R1は不飽和結合を含む炭素数2~5のアルキル基であり、
M1は水素原子、1価または2価金属、アンモニウム基または有機アミン塩である。
次に、疎水性粒子水分散液および炭酸塩系発泡剤の存在下で、前記単量体組成物を架橋重合して含水ゲル重合体を製造する段階が行われる。前記段階で炭酸塩系発泡剤から二酸化炭素気泡が発生し、このような気泡を水分散された疎水性粒子が効果的に捕集して製造された含水ゲル重合体の比表面積が増加することができる。
次に、前記含水ゲル重合体を乾燥および粉砕して粉末形態のベース樹脂を形成する段階が行われる。必要に応じて前記乾燥段階の効率を上げるために乾燥前に粗粉砕する段階をさらに経ることができる。
次に、表面架橋剤の存在下で、前記ベース樹脂の表面を追加架橋して表面架橋層を形成する段階が行われる。前記段階により、前記ベース樹脂の表面に、より具体的にはベース樹脂粒子それぞれの表面の少なくとも一部に表面架橋層が形成された高吸水性樹脂が製造される。
2)前記高吸水性樹脂1gを水道水2Lに浸漬させて1分間膨潤させたとき1分間前記高吸水性樹脂に吸収される水の重量で定義される1分水道水吸収能が90g以上。
3)EDANA法WSP 241.3の方法により測定した遠心分離保水能(CRC)が30~35g/g;
4)EDANA法WSP 242.3の方法により測定した0.7psiの加圧吸収能(AUP)が15~22g/g;および
5)下記式1で計算される有効吸収能(EFFC)が23g/g以上:

有効吸収能(EFFC)={保水能(CRC)+0.7psi加圧吸収能(AUP)}/2
前記式1において、
前記保水能(CRC)はEDANA法WSP 241.3の方法により測定した高吸水性樹脂の遠心分離保水能(CRC)を意味し、
前記0.7psi加圧吸収能(AUP)はEDANA法WSP 242.3の方法により測定した高吸水性樹脂の0.7psiの加圧吸収能(AUP)を意味する。
以下の実施例で使用された疎水性粒子水分散液は下記のような方法で製造された。
先に、高剪断ミキサー(high shear mixer)に2種以上の界面活性剤(ポリオキシエチレンアルキルエーテル系非イオン性界面活性剤と、硫酸塩系アニオン性界面活性剤を含む)が含有された水50gを入れて165℃まで昇温させた後ステアリン酸カルシウム粉末50gを投入した。次に、ステアリン酸カルシウムが十分に粉砕されるように常圧で4000rpmで30分間攪拌して、平均粒径が5μmであるステアリン酸カルシウムが50重量%分散した水分散液Ca-stを得た。この時、前記水分散液のpHは9.5であった。また、前記Ca-stの製造後、その平均粒径(D50)はレーザ回折粒度測定装置(Microtrac S3500)を用いて、粒子個数累積分布の50%地点の粒径で測定/算出した。
先に、高剪断ミキサー(high shear mixer)に2種以上の界面活性剤(ポリオキシエチレンアルキルエーテル系非イオン性界面活性剤と、硫酸塩系アニオン性界面活性剤を含む)が含有された水70gを入れて140℃まで昇温させた後ステアリン酸亜鉛粉末30gを投入した。次に、ステアリン酸亜鉛が十分に粉砕されるように常圧で4000rpmで30分間攪拌して、平均粒径が1μmであるステアリン酸亜鉛が30重量%分散した水分散液Zn-stを得た。この時、前記水分散液のpHは9.5であり、Zn-stの平均粒径は製造例1と同様の方法で測定/算出した。
実施例1
(段階1)攪拌機、温度計を取り付けた3Lガラス容器にアクリル酸100g、内部架橋剤であるPEGDA400(ポリエチレングリコールジアクリレート400)0.001g、エチレングリコールジグリシジルエーテル(EJ1030s)0.20g、光開始剤であるジフェニル(2,4,6-トリメチルベンゾイル)-ホスフィンオキシド(I-819)0.008gおよび熱開始剤である過硫酸ナトリウム0.15gを添加して溶解させた後、22%水酸化ナトリウム溶液188gを添加して単量体組成物を製造した(中和度:75モル%;固形分含有量:41重量%)。
実施例1の段階2で、単量体組成物に疎水性粒子水分散液および炭酸塩系発泡剤炭酸水素ナトリウムとともに気泡安定剤である28%のドデシル硫酸ナトリウム(sodium dodecyl sulfate;SDS)水溶液(ELOTANTETM SL130 LG生活健康社製)0.03g(SDS0.0084g)をさらに投入したことを除いては、実施例1と同様の方法を用いて高吸水性樹脂を製造した。
実施例1の段階2で、単量体組成物に疎水性粒子水分散液および炭酸塩系発泡剤炭酸水素ナトリウムとともに気泡安定剤である28%のドデシル硫酸ナトリウム(sodium dodecyl sulfate;SDS)水溶液(ELOTANTETM SL130 LG生活健康社製)0.05g(SDS 0.014g)をさらに投入したことを除いては、実施例1と同様の方法を用いて高吸水性樹脂を製造した。
実施例1の段階2で、単量体組成物に疎水性粒子水分散液および炭酸塩系発泡剤炭酸水素ナトリウムとともに気泡安定剤であるポリオキシエチレンラウリルエーテル(LE-6,ハンノンファソン社製)0.01gをさらに投入したことを除いては、実施例1と同様の方法を用いて高吸水性樹脂を製造した。
実施例1の段階2で、単量体組成物に疎水性粒子水分散液および炭酸塩系発泡剤炭酸水素ナトリウムとともに気泡安定剤であるポリオキシエチレンラウリルエーテル(LE-6,ハンノンファソン社製)0.03gをさらに投入したことを除いては、実施例1と同様の方法を用いて高吸水性樹脂を製造した。
実施例1の段階2で、疎水性粒子水分散液としてCa-stの代わりにステアリン酸亜鉛がアクリル酸100gに対して0.09g添加されるように前記製造例2で製造したステアリン酸亜鉛水分散液Zn-st 0.3gを使用して、疎水性粒子水分散液および炭酸塩系発泡剤炭酸水素ナトリウムとともに気泡安定剤であるポリオキシエチレンラウリルエーテル(LE-6,ハンノンファソン社製)0.03gをさらに投入したことを除いては、実施例1と同様の方法を用いて高吸水性樹脂を製造した。
実施例2で疎水性粒子水分散液を使用しなかったことを除いては、実施例2と同様の方法を用いて高吸水性樹脂を製造した。
実施例3で疎水性粒子水分散液を使用しなかったことを除いては、実施例3と同様の方法を用いて高吸水性樹脂を製造した。
実施例5で疎水性粒子水分散液を使用しなかったことを除いては、実施例5と同様の方法を用いて高吸水性樹脂を製造した。
実施例1で疎水性粒子水分散液形態のCa-stの代わりに、粉末形態の平均粒径5μmを有するステアリン酸カルシウム(Duksan科学社製)をアクリル酸100gに対して0.09g使用したことを除いては、実施例1と同様の方法を用いて高吸水性樹脂を製造した。ただし、粉末形態のステアリン酸カルシウムは単量体組成物に分散できず凝集したまま中和液上に浮いていて、均一な気孔構造が分布した高吸水性樹脂が製造されなかった。
前記実施例6、比較例2および比較例3で製造した高吸水性樹脂粒子の外部表面イメージをVersatile Benchtop SEM(JCM-6000,JEOL社製)機器を用いて高吸水性樹脂粒子の外部表面イメージをx24倍率で撮影し、撮影したイメージをそれぞれ図1、図2および図3に示した。
前記実施例および比較例で製造した高吸水性樹脂について、次のような方法で物性を評価して下記表1に示した。特記しない限り、下記物性評価はすべての過程を恒温恒湿室(23±0.5℃、相対湿度45±0.5%)で行い、測定誤差を防止するために3回測定平均値を測定データとした。また、下記物性評価で使用した生理食塩水または塩水は0.9重量%塩化ナトリウム(NaCl)水溶液を意味する。
各樹脂の無荷重下吸収倍率による保水能をEDANA WSP 241.3により測定した。
CRC(g/g)={[W2(g)-W1(g)]/W0(g)}-1
各樹脂の0.7psiの加圧吸収能を、EDANA法WSP 242.3により測定した。
AUP(g/g)=[W4(g)-W3(g)]/W0(g)
前記実施例および比較例の高吸水性樹脂の吸収速度(vortex time)を下記のような方法で測定した。
(ii)次に、前記ビーカーがマグネチック攪拌機の中央にくるように置いた後、前記ビーカーの中にマグネチックバー(直径8mm、長さ30mm)を入れた。
(iii)その後、前記マグネチックバーが600rpmで攪拌するように攪拌機を作動させて、攪拌によってできた渦流(vortex)の最下部分が前記マグネチックバーの上に当たるようにした。
(iv)ビーカー内の塩水の温度が24.0℃になったことを確認した後2±0.01gの高吸水性樹脂試料を投入しながら同時にストップウォッチを作動させて、渦流が消えて液表面が完全水平になるまでの時間を秒単位で測定し、これを吸収速度とした。
実施例および比較例の高吸水性樹脂の1分水道水吸収能を下記のような方法で測定した。
(ii)その後に膨潤された高吸水性樹脂が入っているティーバッグを水道水の外に持ち上げて1分が経過した後水道水が抜けたティーバッグと高吸水性樹脂の重量を共に測定した後、空のティーバッグの重量を引いた値を1分水道水吸収能とした。
前記で測定された遠心分離保水能(CRC)および0.7psi加圧吸収能(AUP)に基づいて前記式1により有効吸収能(EFFC)を計算した。
Claims (11)
- 酸性基を有して前記酸性基の少なくとも一部が中和したアクリル酸系単量体および内部架橋剤を含む単量体組成物を準備する段階(段階1);
疎水性粒子水分散液および炭酸塩系発泡剤の存在下で、前記単量体組成物を架橋重合して含水ゲル重合体を製造する段階(段階2);
前記含水ゲル重合体を乾燥および粉砕して粉末形態のベース樹脂を形成する段階(段階3);および
表面架橋剤の存在下で、前記ベース樹脂の表面を追加架橋して表面架橋層を形成して高吸水性樹脂を製造する段階(段階4)を含み、
前記疎水性粒子水分散液は疎水性粒子が界面活性剤によって分散しているコロイド溶液であり、
前記疎水性粒子は炭素数7~24の脂肪酸の金属塩を含み、
前記高吸水性樹脂は下記1)および2)を満たす、
高吸水性樹脂の製造方法:
1)24.0℃での吸収速度(vortex time)が40秒以下;および
2)前記高吸水性樹脂1gを水道水2Lに浸漬させて1分間膨潤させたとき1分間前記高吸水性樹脂に吸収される水の重量で定義される1分水道水吸収能が90g以上。 - 前記疎水性粒子はステアリン酸カルシウム、ステアリン酸マグネシウム、ステアリン酸ナトリウム、ステアリン酸亜鉛およびステアリン酸カリウムで構成される群より選ばれる1種以上のステアリン酸の金属塩である、請求項1に記載の高吸水性樹脂の製造方法。
- 前記疎水性粒子は0.5μm~20μmの平均粒径を有する、請求項1または2に記載の高吸水性樹脂の製造方法。
- 前記疎水性粒子は前記アクリル酸系単量体100重量部に対して0.01~0.5重量部で使用される、請求項1から3のいずれか一項に記載の高吸水性樹脂の製造方法。
- 前記界面活性剤は非イオン性界面活性剤およびアニオン性界面活性剤を含む、請求項1から4のいずれか一項に記載の高吸水性樹脂の製造方法。
- 前記炭酸塩系発泡剤は炭酸水素ナトリウム(sodium bicarbonate)、炭酸ナトリウム(sodium carbonate)、炭酸水素カリウム(potassium bicarbonate)、炭酸カリウム(potassium carbonate)、炭酸水素カルシウム(calcium bicarbonate)、炭酸カルシウム(calcium bicarbonate)、炭酸水素マグネシウム(magnesium bicarbonate)および炭酸マグネシウム(magnesium carbonate)で構成される群より選ばれる1種以上である、請求項1から5のいずれか一項に記載の高吸水性樹脂の製造方法。
- 前記炭酸塩系発泡剤および前記疎水性粒子は1:0.1~1:1の重量比で使用される、請求項1から6のいずれか一項に記載の高吸水性樹脂の製造方法。
- 前記段階2で、前記炭酸塩系発泡剤とともにアルキルスルフェート系化合物およびポリオキシエチレンアルキルエーテル系化合物で構成される群より選ばれる1種以上の気泡安定剤をさらに添加する、請求項1から7のいずれか一項に記載の高吸水性樹脂の製造方法。
- 前記炭酸塩系発泡剤および前記気泡安定剤は1:0.01~1:0.5の重量比で使用される、請求項8に記載の高吸水性樹脂の製造方法。
- 前記表面架橋剤は前記内部架橋剤と同じものを使用する、請求項1から9のいずれか一項に記載の高吸水性樹脂の製造方法。
- 前記高吸水性樹脂は下記式1で計算される有効吸収能(EFFC)が23g/g以上である、請求項1から10のいずれか一項に記載の高吸水性樹脂の製造方法:

前記式1において、
前記保水能(CRC)はEDANA法WSP 241.3の方法により測定した高吸水性樹脂の遠心分離保水能(CRC)を意味し、前記0.7psi加圧吸収能(AUP)はEDANA法WSP 242.3の方法により測定した高吸水性樹脂の0.7psiの加圧吸収能(AUP)を意味する。
