式中のdnは、全測定質量のn%がその粒径未満である粒径である。Ldは無次元数である。粒子サイズ分布幅Ldは累積粒子サイズ曲線に基づいて計算される。例として、d50は、粒子の全質量の50%がそれ未満である(及びそれを超える)粒径を表す。したがって、d50は、所定の分布のメジアン粒子サイズを表し、これに関連する用語「サイズ」は「直径」を意味しなければならない。
(i)2.00~5.00のpHを有する出発溶液を準備する工程と、
(ii)反応媒体のpHが2.00~5.00の範囲に維持されるようにケイ酸塩と酸とを前記出発溶液に同時に添加する工程と、

本発明の沈降シリカの物理化学的特性を、以下に記載する方法を用いて決定した。
CTAB表面積(SCTAB)値を標準NF ISO 5794-1附属書Gに従って求めた。
BET表面積SBETを、以下の調節と共に、標準NF ISO 5794-1附属書E(2010年6月)に詳述されたBrunauer-Emmett-Teller法に従って求めた:試料を160℃±10℃で予備乾燥させた;測定のために使用される分圧P/P0は0.05~0.2の間であった。
CPS Instruments社によって市販されている、遠心光沈降速度計型「CPS DC24000UHR」を使用するディスク式遠心沈降機での遠心沈降によってd50、d16、d84及びLdの値を測定した。この計測器は、デバイスによって供給されるオペレーティングソフトウェア(オペレーティングソフトウェアバージョン11g)を備えている。
測定のために、以下のパラメーターを設定した。較正標準パラメーターのために、供給元によって知らされるPVC標準の情報を用いた。
測定波長を405nmに設定した。以下のランタイムオプションパラメーターを設定した。
遠心ディスクを24000rpmで30分間回転させる。ショ糖の密度勾配(CASn°57-50-1)は次のように調製する。
試料1:1.8mLの24重量%溶液
試料2:1.6mLの24重量%溶液+0.2mLの8重量%溶液
試料3:1.4mLの24重量%溶液+0.4mLの8重量%溶液
試料4:1.2mLの24重量%溶液+0.6mLの8重量%溶液
試料5:1.0mLの24重量%溶液+0.8mLの8重量%溶液
試料6:0.8mLの24重量%溶液+1.0mLの8重量%溶液
試料7:0.6mLの24重量%溶液+1.2mLの8重量%溶液
試料8:0.4mLの24重量%溶液+1.4mLの8重量%溶液
試料9:0.2mLの24重量%溶液+1.6mLの8重量%溶液
試料10:1.8mLの8重量%溶液。
50mL高形状ガラスビーカー(SCHOTT DURAN:直径38mm、高さ78mm)内に3.2gのシリカを秤量し、40mLの脱イオン水を添加して、シリカの8重量%懸濁液を得た。ビーカーを氷及び冷水で満たされた結晶皿内に置く前に、懸濁液をマグネチックスターラーで撹拌した(最低20秒)。マグネチックスターラーを外し、結晶皿を、ビーカーの底部から1cmに置いた超音波プローブ下に置いた。超音波プローブをその最大振幅の56%に設定し、8分間活性化した。超音波処理の終了時に、試料抽出後まで最低500rpmで撹拌する2cm磁気撹拌棒を有するマグネチックスターラー上にビーカーを再び置いた。
それぞれの試料を分析する前に、較正標準を記録した。それぞれの場合、CPS Instrumentsによって提供され、その特性が前もってソフトウェアに入れられるPVC標準0.1mLを注入した。PVC標準のこの最初の注入と同時にソフトウェアで測定を開始することが重要である。注入時に測定を同時に開始することを確実にすることによって、予め超音波処理された試料100μLを注入する前に装置の確認を受けなければならない。
値d50、d16、d84及びLdは、直尺で描かれる分布を基準としている。直径の粒子サイズ分布関数の積分は、「累積」分布、すなわち最小直径と目的の直径との間の粒子の全質量を得ることを可能にする。
d50:母集団の質量で50%がそれ未満及びそれを超える直径である。d50は、シリカ粒子のメジアンサイズ、すなわち直径と呼ばれる。
d84:それ未満で粒子の全質量の84%が測定される直径である。
d16:それ未満で粒子の全質量の16%が測定される直径である。
Ld:等式:Ld=(d84-d16)/d50に従って計算される。
金属Mの含有量は、広く公知の手順を使用して、ICPOES(誘導結合プラズマ発光分析法)によって決定することができる。
25Lのステンレス鋼製反応容器に167Lの精製水及び260gのNa2SO4(固形)を投入した。得られた溶液を撹拌及び加熱して92℃に到達させた。均一な反応媒体を維持するために、この温度で撹拌しながら反応全体を行った。硫酸(濃度:7.7重量%)を、3.90のpH値に達するまで反応容器に投入した。

仏国特許第2997405号明細書の実施例8を、Zeosil(登録商標)1165MP(Solvay SAから市販)のフィルターケークから出発して再現する。沈降シリカCS1の特性を表2に報告する。
シリカ充填エラストマー組成物を調製した。エラストマー100部当たりの重量部(phr)で表される組成物を表3に記載する。
測定は150℃で加硫した後に実施した。
Claims (10)
- 沈降シリカであって、
- 70~350m2/gの範囲のCTAB表面積SCTAB;
- 少なくとも0.1mol%の金属Mの量WM;並びに
- (I)である、遠心沈降によって測定されるメジアン粒子サイズd50:
|d50|≧183×|RION|×|WM|-0.67×|SCTAB|+233 (I)
(式中、
|d50|は遠心沈降によって測定されnm単位で表されるメジアン粒子サイズd50の数値を表し、|RION|はnm単位で表される金属Mのイオン半径の数値を表し、|SCTAB|はm2/g単位で表されるCTAB表面積SCTABの数値を表し、|WM|は金属のパーセントモル量WMの数値を表す);
を特徴とし、
金属Mが、Zrである、沈降シリカ。 - CTAB表面積SCTABが80~300m2/gの範囲である、請求項1に記載の沈降シリカ。
- 前記少なくとも1つの金属Mの量WMが、0.1~7.0mol%の範囲である、請求項1又は2に記載の沈降シリカ。
- 遠心沈降によって測定される前記粒子サイズ分布の幅Ldが1.2~3.5である、請求項1~3のいずれか一項に記載の沈降シリカ。
- 請求項1~4のいずれか一項に記載の沈降シリカと、少なくとも1種のポリマーとを含む組成物。
- 前記少なくとも1種のポリマーがエラストマーの群から選択される、請求項5に記載の組成物。
- 請求項1~4のいずれか一項に記載の沈降シリカ又は請求項5若しくは6に記載の組成物を含む物品。
- 履物の靴底、床の敷物、ガスバリア、ケーブルウェイのためのローラー、家庭用電化製品のためのシール、液体又は気体パイプのためのシール、ブレーキシステムシール、パイプ、被覆材料、ケーブル、エンジンサポート、バッテリーセパレーター、コンベアベルト又はトランスミッションベルトの形態の、請求項7に記載の物品。
- 請求項1~4のいずれか一項に記載の沈降シリカを含むタイヤ又はタイヤ構成要素。
- 請求項1~4のいずれか一項に記載の沈降シリカを含む触媒、触媒担体、パーソナルケア製品、又はベビーケア製品。
