有害生物忌避シリカキャリアーの製造:有害生物忌避シリカキャリアーを、DEETと沈降シリカ(Evonik IndustriesからのSipernat 22 S)を表1に示すように異なる比率(グラム(g))で混合するにより製造した。サンプル1aおよび1bを105±1℃でオーブン中に5日間保持し、サンプルの重量をこの期間の最後に測定した。サンプル1aは約3.6重量%を失い、サンプル1bは約9.9重量%を失った。それぞれ、有害生物忌避シリカキャリアーからの揮発性DEETの喪失を示している。
有害生物忌避マスターバッチの製造:約40グラム(g)の比較例1の有害生物忌避シリカキャリアーサンプル1bを、40gのLDPE粉末(HD50MA180)、0.5gのWax PE 520、0.1gの鉱油および19.4gのHDPE顆粒とともに溶融押出することにより、有害生物忌避マスターバッチサンプル2を形成させた。製造したサンプル2を105±1℃でオーブン中に5日間保持し、重量をこの期間の最後に測定した。サンプル2のおおよその重量減少は、8.7%であった。
有害生物忌避シリカキャリアーの製造:表2に示されるように異なる量のDEET、ヒマシ油エトキシレートおよびシリカを含有する3つのサンプル、すなわち3a、3bおよび3cをそれぞれ製造した。最初にDEETをヒマシ油エトキシレート(Clariant InternationalからのEmulsogen 360EL)と混合し、得られたDEET溶液を沈降シリカキャリアー(Evonik IndustriesからのSipernat 22S)に吸収させて、有害生物忌避シリカキャリアーサンプル3a、3bおよび3cをそれぞれ形成させた。そのようにして製造された有害生物忌避シリカキャリアーサンプルは、自由流動性で塊のない粉末であり、低発塵性であった。製造したサンプルを105±1℃でオーブン中に5日間保持し、これらのサンプルのおおよその重量減少パーセントをこの期間の最後に測定した。サンプル3aの重量減少は、約2.6%であった。それに比べ、比較例1のサンプル1aの重量減少パーセントは、約3.6%であった。この例は、ヒマシ油エトキシレートの存在下におけるDEETの吸収により、重量減少が減少したことを示している。サンプル3bからサンプル3cにかけて界面活性剤の量を増加することにより、重量減少がさらに減少し、従ってこれは界面活性剤の存在下でシリカキャリアーに吸収させると、DEETの保持が増強されることを示していた。

なお、本願は、特許請求の範囲に記載の発明に関するものであるが、他の態様として以下も包含し得る。
1.有害生物忌避ポリマー組成物であって、
前記組成物の全重量を基準として少なくとも50重量%の熱可塑性ポリマー;および
前記組成物の全重量を基準として0.1重量%~50重量%の、有害生物忌避活性物質を含む沈降シリカキャリアー、
を含み、前記活性物質は界面活性剤の存在下で沈降シリカキャリアーに吸収されている、有害生物忌避ポリマー組成物。
2.前記の熱可塑性ポリマーが、ポリアミド類、ポリスチレン類、ポリ塩化ビニル類、ポリオレフィン類またはそれらの任意のコポリマーを含む、上記1に記載のポリマー組成物。
3.前記の活性物質が、N,N-ジエチル-3-メチルベンズアミド(DEET)、1-ピペリジンカルボン酸-2-(2-ヒドロキシエチル)-1-メチルプロピルエステル(ピカリジン)、3-[N-ブチル-N-アセチル]-アミノプロピオン酸、エチルエステル、ジメチルカルバメートまたはそれらの任意の組み合わせを含む、上記1に記載のポリマー組成物。
4.前記の活性物質がN,N-ジエチル-3-メチルベンズアミドであり、前記の熱可塑性ポリマーがポリオレフィン類である、上記1~3のいずれか1つに記載のポリマー組成物。
5.前記の界面活性剤が非イオン性界面活性剤を含む、上記1に記載のポリマー組成物。
6.前記の非イオン性界面活性剤がヒマシ油エトキシレートである、上記5に記載のポリマー組成物。
7.前記の活性物質が前記ポリマー組成物の全重量に対して約0.1重量%~約25重量%の量で存在する、上記1~6のいずれか1つに記載のポリマー組成物。
8.上記1~7のいずれか1つに記載の組成物から製造される物品であって、成形品、フィルム、メルトブローン布、スパンボンド布、不織布、織布または押出成形品である物品。
9.前記織布が蚊忌避ネットである、上記8に記載の物品。
10.沈降シリカキャリアーを含む有害生物忌避シリカ組成物であって、
前記の沈降シリカキャリアーが、そこに吸収された活性物質および界面活性剤を有し、前記界面活性剤が非イオン性界面活性剤を含む、有害生物忌避シリカ組成物。
11.有害生物忌避ポリマー性組成物を形成させるための、上記10に記載の有害生物忌避シリカ組成物の使用。
Claims (11)
- 有害生物忌避活性物質の保持が増強された有害生物忌避ポリマー組成物であって、
前記組成物の全重量を基準として少なくとも50重量%の熱可塑性ポリマー;および
前記組成物の全重量を基準として0.1重量%~50重量%の、有害生物忌避活性物質を含む沈降シリカキャリアー、
を含み、前記活性物質は界面活性剤の存在下で沈降シリカキャリアーに吸収されており、前記の界面活性剤が非イオン性界面活性剤を含み、前記の活性物質が、N,N-ジエチル-3-メチルベンズアミド(DEET)、1-ピペリジンカルボン酸-2-(2-ヒドロキシエチル)-1-メチルプロピルエステル(ピカリジン)、3-[N-ブチル-N-アセチル]-アミノプロピオン酸エチルエステル、ジメチルカルバメートまたはそれらの任意の組み合わせを含む、有害生物忌避ポリマー組成物。 - 前記の熱可塑性ポリマーが、ポリアミド類、ポリスチレン類、ポリ塩化ビニル類、ポリオレフィン類またはそれらの任意のコポリマーを含む、請求項1に記載のポリマー組成物。
