切断経路(Interrupted Path):経路が長手方向において切断されているバス経路(例えば不連続ワイヤ)。バス(例えば、バスの切断(箇所)を挟んで経路の両側)に取付けられるデバイスは、バス上の次のデバイスへ、切断を越えて確実に信号を伝達する。伝達される信号は、デバイスによって修正可能又は不可能である。
放射状実装型デバイス(Radial Mounted Device(RMD)):放射状バス又は基板周囲における実装のために結合する部品を有するマルチパートコンポーネント。
この例示的なプロトコルにおいて、バス上の第1デバイスは、バスドライバから送信される全ての信号にさらされる。信号がバスに沿って伝達されていくと、バスにある第1デバイスが(データ)列の先頭データを削除するという事実により、プロトコルのカスケード性質が示される。データ列がバスを通過する際に修正が行われるように、データ信号の電気経路を切断する必要がある。
以下は、デバイス1から渡され、第2デバイスへと、バスの下位へと進むデータ列の一実施例である。
そして同様にデバイス2は、そのデータを削除し、次のデータをデバイス(番号)3に送信することによってデータ列を修正する。
本発明が開示するフレキシブルで切断可能な放射状バス及びバス実装のデバイスは、従来技術のバス及びSMDデバイスに対して著しい利点を提供する。これは例えば以下である。
1.現在のフラットフォームファクタ・アドレス指定可能バス設計における改良された動きの範囲。
2.組み込まれた放射状センタースタビライザは、切断経路線がバスに沿って切断(箇所)にアクセスできるように縁部に向けて、線を(センタースタビライザのないバスと比較すると)外側へ配置する。
3.バスに沿って効率的に電子デバイスを取付けることができるように、スタビライザはその全長にわたり、放射状(に配置されている)線の外縁部を、中心点を中心とした相対位置に保持し、これにより、一続きとなったデバイスの長さが自動的に作製されるよう、更にサポートする。
4.スタビライザはその全長にわたり、同じ相対位置に信号及び電力線を保持する。そしてパススルー線が、切断された線の分離又は障壁箇所に対しても作用できるように、パススルー線及び信号線を指向することができる。
5.組み込まれた放射状センタースタビライザは、バスに沿って広げられたデバイスへの、電気接続(例えばはんだ付けされた接続)を形成するために適所に線を保つ。
6.組み込まれた放射状センタースタビライザは、信号線の間でクロストークを低減させ、バス伝送速度を強化するために用いることができる接地線を含むことができる。
7.1部式又は2部式以上の「ビーズ」表面実装デバイスパッケージ(例えば放射状実装型デバイス(RMD))は、バスの周囲に実装させることができ、表面実装はんだ付け技術を利用することができる。
8.放射状実装型デバイスは特に、デバイス動作を容易にする、バス経路が切断されている箇所のバスに実装されるように設計することができる。
9.いくつかの実施例において放射状実装型デバイスは、例えば、入出力信号をバスにはんだ付けすることができる端部上のキャスタレーション又はパッドといった電気接続部位又はコネクタを有し、これは、ビーズをバスの切断された信号路上の位置へ固定させる役割を果たし、ビーズデバイスの目的が果たされる。
10.いくつかの実施例において、2部式(又は2部式以上の)放射状実装型デバイスは、部品間及びビーズ周囲の信号、電圧、及び接地電位の伝播を促進するために、そしてビーズの断面又は部分同士を更に結びつけるために、ビーズの2部分(又はそれ以上)が結合する端部に、キャスタレーション又はパッドを有する。
フレキシブルで切断可能な放射状バスの1つの特徴は、柔軟性の劣るプリントバスの製造利点の容易さを維持する一方で、様々なタイプのアドレス指定が可能なデバイスバスに対して4つの範囲の運動を可能にするということである。バスはまた、ビーズ(例えばバスに沿って容易に取付けることができる放射状実装型デバイス(RMD))のように形成することができる新型のSMDデバイスを見込む。この新型SMDデバイスは、バスの周囲に拡張する表面を有するという利点があるので、光ベースのデバイスに対して視野を増大させる可能性がある。
ビーズデバイスは、バス上の適切な位置(例えば切断経路線の切断部)で単一の部品に成形されるか、又はバスに螺合させてもよい。
ビーズは、バスに沿った任意位置に取付けることができるが、ビーズをあまり近くに配置すると、バスの柔軟性を低下させ得ることを考慮する。バスにビーズを取付けるために、実施例において取付け場所又は実装位置が選択される。ビーズが正常に動作するために切断を必要する信号は、導体からの特定長の信号路を取り除く道具を用いて、分断又は切断される。パススルー経路のバス線及び/又は切断経路のバス線の表面から、外側の絶縁体部分が取り除かれ、ここで、ビーズ端部がバスにはんだ付けされる。ビーズの2つの半部(一例)は、この切断箇所を覆い、バスを囲むように信号の位置に対して適切に配置される。このビーズの2つの半部は、機械的に接続可能である(例えば、互いに係止するか又はぴったりと留まる、突起及び戻り止め(デテント)を有する)。ビーズの2つの半部は、内面は接着剤又はシーラントで被覆されていてもよい(例えば、ビーズのはんだ付け可能なエリアを被覆しないように注意する)。ビーズは端部でバスにはんだ付けされ、ビーズの2つの半部の結合部における信号接続部位の中心部でもはんだ付けされると共に、ビーズは互いに結び付けられる。一旦ビーズがはんだ付けされると、ビーズを適所に保つのに十分な機械力を備えると共に、ビーズの2つの半部の結合部の強度をさらに高めるために用いられ得るシーラント又は接着剤があれば乾燥させる。
Claims (6)
- 電子的にアドレス指定が可能なデバイスが実装されたフレキシブルで切断可能な放射状バスであって、
放射状に配置された少なくとも3本の導線を含むバスを備え、
前記少なくとも3本の導線は、センタースタビライザによって結合され、
前記少なくとも3本の導線のうち少なくとも第1の導線は、前記バス中で切断されることはなく、
前記少なくとも3本の導線のうち少なくとも第2の導線は、前記バスに沿って、実装位置で切断されていることを特徴とする、バス。 - 前記少なくとも3本の導線が配置されている前記放射状は、実質的に放射状に対称形であることを特徴とする、請求項1記載のバス。
- 電子的にアドレス指定が可能なデバイスが実装されるフレキシブルで切断可能な放射状バスを生成する方法であって、
放射状に配置された少なくとも3本の導線を含むバスを供給するステップを含み、
前記少なくとも3本の導線は、センタースタビライザによって結合され、
前記少なくとも3本の導線のうち少なくとも第1の導線は、前記バス中で切断されることはなく、
前記少なくとも3本の導線のうち少なくとも第2の導線は、前記バスに沿った実装位置で切断されていることを特徴とする、方法。 - 前記センタースタビライザは切断可能な線を、道具又は機械により前記実装位置で前記線に切り込みを入れるか又は切断できるように十分中心点又は軸から外側へ距離を置きつつ、前記バス中の隣接する線に切り込みを入れたり切断させることなく配置することを特徴とする、請求項3記載の方法。
- 前記センタースタビライザが信号線間のクロストークを低減させ、バス伝送速度を高めるために用いられる接地線を含むことを特徴とする、請求項3記載の方法。
- 前記放射状バスは、フラットアドレス指定が可能なバス配置において、少なくとも1方向への改良された柔軟性又は運動の範囲を提供することを特徴とする、請求項3記載の方法。
