本発明の好ましい実施形態によれば、例えば、以下が提供される。
(項1)
複数のカプセルと、結合剤とを備えている電気光学媒体であって、各カプセルは、複数の荷電粒子と、流体とを含み、前記荷電粒子は、電場の印加によって移動可能であり、前記結合剤は、魚ゼラチンとアカシアとを備えている、電気光学媒体。
(項2)
前記カプセルは、ゼラチンとアカシアとを備えている、上記項1に記載の電気光学媒体。
(項3)
前記結合剤は、0.5〜2.0のアカシアに対する魚ゼラチンの質量比率を有する、上記項1に記載の電気光学媒体。
(項4)
前記結合剤は、550nm、50%RHで、1.47〜1.57の屈折率を有する、上記項1に記載の電気光学媒体。
(項5)
前記電場の印加は、前記荷電粒子を開状態と閉状態との間で切り替え、前記カプセルの光の吸収度は、前記開状態におけるより前記閉状態において大きい、上記項1に記載の電気光学媒体。
(項6)
前記荷電顔料粒子は、第1の色を有する第1のタイプの粒子と、第2の色を有する第2のタイプの粒子とを備え、
前記第1の色と第2の色とは、異なり、前記第1のタイプの粒子は、前記第2のタイプの粒子と反対の電荷を有する、上記項1に記載の電気光学媒体。
(項7)
前記荷電顔料粒子は、少なくとも3つの組の粒子を備え、各組の粒子は、他の2つの組の粒子の色と異なる色を有し、各組の粒子の色は、白色、黒色、赤色、緑色、青色、マゼンタ色、シアン色、および黄色から成る群から選択される、上記項1に記載の電気光学媒体。
(項8)
2つの電極間に配置された上記項1に記載の可変透過率電気泳動媒体層を備えているデバイスであって、前記2つの電極のうちの少なくとも1つは、光透過性である、デバイス。
(項9)
前記2つの電極は、光透過性である、上記項8に記載のデバイス。
Claims (6)
- 複数のカプセルと、結合剤とを備えている電気光学媒体であって、各カプセルは、ゼラチンとアカシアとを備えておりそして複数の荷電粒子と、流体とを含み、前記荷電粒子は、電場の印加によって移動可能であり、前記結合剤は、魚ゼラチンとアカシアとを備えており、ここで、前記結合剤は、重量でほぼ等量の魚ゼラチンとアカシアとのものであり、そして前記結合剤は、550nm、50%RHで、1.47〜1.57の屈折率を有する、電気光学媒体。
- 前記電場の印加は、前記荷電粒子を開状態と閉状態との間で切り替え、前記カプセルの光の吸収度は、前記開状態におけるより前記閉状態において大きい、請求項1に記載の電気光学媒体。
- 前記荷電粒子は、第1の色を有する第1のタイプの粒子と、第2の色を有する第2のタイプの粒子とを備え、
