金属ワイヤの加熱及び溶融を容易にするために、金属ワイヤを溶接トーチに連続的に送給して溶接トーチのアーク中の適切な位置に維持できるように、金属ワイヤを適切な位置に維持するワイヤ位置制御システムを使用して、自由形状造形プロセスにより生産される成形加工物への溶融金属の堆積速度を増加させることができることが分かっている。加工物上に溶融させるために金属ワイヤが溶接トーチに連続的に送給されるように、ワイヤ送給速度を実質的に一定に維持することができる。適切な位置での溶接トーチへの金属ワイヤの連続送給により、加工物への金属の望ましくない不連続な堆積が防止される。堆積のいかなる不連続箇所も、加工物に不完全さ、不規則性、及び欠陥をもたらす可能性があり、このことが、最終的に最終製品の層間剥離、疲労、又はひび割れにつながる可能性があり、潜在的に意図した目的に使用できなくする。溶接トーチにより放出される熱源に対して金属ワイヤを適切な位置に維持することにより、金属ワイヤの連続送給の速度を増加させることができ、加工物への溶融金属の堆積速度が増加することを可能にする。よって、溶接トーチにより放出される熱源中における金属ワイヤの一定の適切な配置により、自由形状造形プロセスの効率が高まる。

Claims (13)
- 金属ワイヤを溶接トーチに提供する方法であって、
溶接トーチにより放出される熱源中に前記金属ワイヤの先端部が位置決めされるように、ワイヤ供給源からガイドを通してある量の前記金属ワイヤを前進させるステップと、
前記溶接トーチにより放出される前記熱源に対する前記金属ワイヤの前記先端部の前記位置を検出するステップと、
前記ガイドが取り付けられる調節可能なフレームを再配置することにより前記熱源に対する前記金属ワイヤの前記先端部の前記位置を調節するステップであって、前記調節可能なフレームは固定フレームに回転可能に取り付けられ、前記再配置することは、前記調節可能なフレームを前記固定フレームに向けて又は前記固定フレームから離れる方向に回転することを含む、前記ステップと
を含む、方法。 - 前記調節可能なフレームが、枢動継手と係合される回転可能な支持ピストンを収容する支持体と、前記回転可能な支持ピストンに接続されて前記回転可能な支持ピストンを枢動可能に支持するコネクタとを備える保持ユニットにより固定フレームに回転可能に取り付けられ、前記支持体が前記固定フレームに固定して取り付けられる、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記調節可能なフレームが、前記固定フレームに取り付けられた板の雌ねじ開口部と係合させるねじ部材に取り付けられた位置変更モータを作動させることにより再配置され、且つ前記位置変更モータによる一方向への前記ねじ部材の回転により、前記調節可能なフレームが前記固定フレームに向けて再配置され、且つ前記位置変更モータによる反対方向への前記ねじ部材の回転により、前記調節可能なフレームが前記固定フレームから離れる方向に再配置される、請求項2に記載の方法。
- 前記位置変更モータがステッピングモータであり、且つ前記モータに供給される励磁パルスの数が、いずれかの方向への前記ねじ部材の正確な量の回転をもたらすように制御される、請求項3に記載の方法。
- 前記位置変更モータが、前記モータに提供される電力を変調するか、又は前記モータの移動の速度と方向と持続時間を調整するか、信号に応答して前記モータの自動作動を許容するか、又はこれらの任意の組み合わせを行う、モータ制御装置を使用して動作させられる、請求項3に記載の方法。
- 前記金属ワイヤが、第1の電動ワイヤ送給器と、ワイヤ駆動モータと、回転カウンタと、第2の電動ワイヤ送給器とを備えるマスタ送給装置を使用して前進させられ、前記ワイヤ駆動モータが、前記溶接トーチにより放出される前記熱源へ前記金属ワイヤを前進させるために前記第1の電動ワイヤ送給器及び前記第2の電動ワイヤ送給器を駆動する、請求項1〜5のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記ワイヤ駆動モータが、出力制御信号により駆動される直流モータ又はステッピングモータである、請求項1〜6のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記ワイヤ駆動モータが、前記モータに提供される電力を変調するか、又は前記モータの移動の速度と方向と持続時間を調整するか、信号に応答して前記モータの自動作動を許容するか、又はこれらの任意の組み合わせを行う、モータ制御装置を使用して動作させられる、請求項7に記載の方法。
- 前記金属ワイヤの前記先端部の前記位置を検出することが、カメラを使用して前記金属ワイヤの前記先端部を可視化することを含む、請求項1〜8のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記カメラが、相補型金属酸化膜半導体(CMOS)カメラである、請求項7に記載の方法。
- 前記CMOSカメラが、検出された光パターンのデジタル表現に変換できる画像を生成し、前記デジタル表現に応じて、前記金属ワイヤの前記先端部が再配置される、請求項10に記載の方法。
- 前記溶接トーチが、プラズマアーク溶接トーチ、ガスタングステンアーク溶接トーチ、ガスメタルアーク溶接トーチ、金属不活性ガス溶接トーチ、タングステン不活性ガス溶接トーチ、レーザ溶接トーチ、電子ビーム溶接トーチ、又はこれらの任意の組み合わせである、請求項1〜11のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記金属ワイヤの前記先端部の前記位置を検出することが連続的に行われる、請求項1に記載の方法。
