R(650)/R(550)値がR(450)/R(550)値より大きく(逆分散特性)、1/4波長位相遅延特性を有する第1および第2位相差フィルムを光軸が互いに平行するように粘着剤層(LG化学のAD701製品、アクリル系粘着剤)により接合した構造の光学フィルムを準備した。具体的には、上記第1位相差フィルムは1/2波長位相遅延特性を有し(550nm波長に対するRin値が275nm)、基準軸(横方向)対比15度の光軸を有する第1液晶層および1/4波長位相遅延特性を有し(550nm波長に対するRin値が137.5nm)、基準軸(横方向)対比75度の光軸を有する第2液晶層の多層構造を有する。上記第2位相差フィルムも上記第1位相差フィルムと同様に準備する。第1および第2位相差フィルムの接合において、1/4波長位相遅延特性を有する第2液晶層が粘着剤層に接するように接合した。
R(650)/R(550)値がR(450)/R(550)値より小さく(正分散特性)、1/2波長位相遅延特性を有する位相差フィルム(Teijin社のポリカーボネート系延伸フィルム)を参考例2の光学フィルムとして準備した。
図4の構造の光学フィルムを実施例1として準備した。第1位相差フィルムおよび第2位相差フィルムは、参考例1と同様にして準備した。ただし、第1位相差フィルムと第2位相差フィルムを接合する粘着剤層として上記染料4を含む粘着剤層を使った。粘着剤層の粘着性樹脂としてはアクリル系樹脂(LG化学のAD701製品)を使ったし、染料は粘着性樹脂100重量部対比約3.5重量部で添加した。第1および第2反射防止層としてそれぞれ無機低屈折(MgF2)材料を利用してスパッタタイプの反射防止層(Dexerials社のClear Type AR1.5 Grade)を適用した。
実施例1の光学フィルムの製造において、第1および第2反射防止層として、それぞれスパッタタイプの反射防止層の代わりに溶液タイプのPETA(Pentaerythritol triacrylate)系有機バインダーと中空シリカの混合材料を利用して反射防止層(DNP社のDSG03 Grade)を適用したことを除いては実施例1と同様にして光学フィルムを製造した。
図9の構造の映像装置を準備する。具体的には、光源(LcoS)300から順に青色波長にマッチされる第1回折導光板200A、緑色波長にマッチされる第2回折導光板200Bおよび赤色波長にマッチされる第3回折導光板200Cが配置される。上記第1回折導光板と第2回折導光板の間に青色光に対する吸収バンドを有する第1光学フィルム100Aを配置し、第2回折導光板と第3回折導光板の間に緑色光および青色光に対する吸収バンドを有する第2光学フィルム100Bを配置する。
光源(LcoS)300から青色波長にマッチされる第1回折導光板200A、緑色波長にマッチされる第2回折導光板200Bおよび赤色波長にマッチされる第3回折導光板200Cが順に配置された回折導光板積層体を比較例1として準備する。ただし、上記回折導光板の間には実施例1の第1および第2光学フィルムを配置していない。

Claims (16)
- 少なくとも2枚の回折導光板を順次含むとともに、前記少なくとも2枚の回折導光板の間に配置された光学フィルムを含む光学素子であって、前記光学フィルムは、下記の数式1を満足し、1/2波長位相遅延特性を有し、380nm〜750nmの可視光線波長領域で吸収バンドを有する、光学素子:

前記数式1でR(λ)は光学フィルムのλnm波長の光に対する面内位相差値であり、
前記吸収バンドとは、波長に対する透過度スペクトルで20%以下の透過度を示す地点の波長帯域を意味する。 - 前記光学フィルムのR(650)/R(550)の値は1.01〜1.19であり、前記光学フィルムのR(450)/R(550)の値は0.81〜0.99である、請求項1に記載の光学素子。
- 前記数式1を満足し、1/4波長位相遅延特性を有する第1位相差フィルム、可視光線波長領域で吸収バンドを有する染料を含むカラーフィルタ層および前記数式1を満足し、1/4波長位相遅延特性を有する第2位相差フィルムを順に含む、請求項1または2に記載の光学素子。
- 前記第1位相差フィルムの光軸および前記第2位相差フィルムの光軸は互いに平行をなす、請求項3に記載の光学素子。
- 前記第1位相差フィルムおよび前記第2位相差フィルムは、それぞれ1/2波長位相遅延特性を有する第1液晶層および1/4波長位相遅延特性を有する第2液晶層を含む多層構造である、請求項3に記載の光学素子。
- 前記第1位相差フィルムおよび前記第2位相差フィルムにおいて、前記第2液晶層は、前記第1液晶層に比べて前記カラーフィルタ層に近く配置される、請求項5に記載の光学素子。
- 前記第1位相差フィルムおよび前記第2位相差フィルムにおいて、前記第1液晶層の光軸と第2液晶層の光軸は、互いに55度〜65度をなす、請求項5または6に記載の光学素子。
- 前記第1位相差フィルムおよび前記第2位相差フィルムにおいて、前記光学フィルムの横方向または縦方向を基準として、前記第1液晶層の光軸は12.5度〜17.5度をなし、前記第2液晶層の光軸は72.5度〜77.5度をなす、請求項5〜7のいずれか一項に記載の光学素子。
- 前記カラーフィルタ層は前記染料および粘着性樹脂を含む粘着剤層である、請求項3〜8のいずれか一項に記載の光学素子。
- 前記光学フィルムは、前記第1位相差フィルムおよび第2位相差フィルムの外側に、それぞれ第1基材層および第2基材層をさらに含む、請求項3〜9のいずれか一項に記載の光学素子。
- 前記光学フィルムは、前記第1位相差フィルムおよび第2位相差フィルムの外側に、それぞれ第1反射防止層および第2反射防止層をさらに含む、請求項3〜10のいずれか一項に記載の光学素子。
- 前記光学フィルムは、第1位相差フィルムの一面に第1バリアー層および第2位相差フィルムの一面に第2バリアー層をさらに含む、請求項3〜11のいずれか一項に記載の光学素子。
- 前記少なくとも2枚の回折導光板は、カップリングされる光の波長帯域が互いに異なる、請求項1に記載の光学素子。
- 前記光学フィルムの吸収バンドと前記光学フィルムと隣接する回折導光板にカップリングされる光の波長帯域は互いに重なる領域がある、請求項1に記載の光学素子。
- 光源および前記光源の光出射側に配置された、請求項1に記載された光学素子を含む、映像装置。
- 前記映像装置は拡張現実機器を含む、請求項15に記載の映像装置。
