Description
(1)全体構成
図1は、SiC繊維を内包する管状体1の構造を示す斜視図である。また、図2は、SiC繊維を内包する管状体のA−A断面における断面図である。図2のA−A断面は、後述する第1SiC繊維層5と、第2SiC繊維層6が交差する部分の断面である。図1および図2に示すように、管状体1は、第1SiC層2と、第1SiC層2の外周に沿って設けられる第1溝3および第2溝4(図1の破線参照)と、第1溝3に沿って設けられる複数のSiC繊維Yからなる第1SiC繊維層5と、第2溝4に沿って設けられる複数のSiC繊維Yからなる第2SiC繊維層6と、第2SiC層7と、を備える。本実施形態の一例として、管状体1が原子力燃料被覆管であれば、第1SiC層2の厚さと、第2SiC層7の厚さの合計が1mm程度である。
図4は、本実施形態におけるSiC繊維を内包する管状体の製造工程を示す図である。まず、押し出し成型により管形状の焼結SiC基材となるグリーン体を製造する(ステップ1)。その後、成形したグリーン体を切削加工することで第1溝3と、第2溝4を形成する(ステップ2、ステップ3)。なお、押し出し成型する際に、第1溝3と、第2溝4を同時に形成してもよい。
本願発明の実施の形態は、以上の実施例に限定されることなく、本発明の技術的範囲に属する限り種々の形態をとりうることは言うまでもない。
このような構成であれば、第1溝3および第2溝4によって、ヤーンN1とヤーンN2の位置を規制することができる。これにより、ヤーンN1とヤーンN2が交差する位置で、ヤーンN1とヤーンN2の間に隙間が生まれ、この隙間にSiC材料が充填され第2SiC層7が形成される。すなわち、第1SiC繊維層5と、第2SiC繊維層6を離間して設けることができる。このため、ヤーンN1とヤーンN2を形成する複数のSiC繊維Yの隙間にもSiC材料が充填されやすくなり、SiC繊維間に空隙が多量残存することを防止することができる。この結果、熱伝導率が高いSiC繊維を内包する管状体の製造方法を提供することができる。

前記第1SiC層の外周に沿って一方向に螺旋状に巻回して設けられる第1溝と、

前記第1SiC繊維層よりも外側に前記一方向と異なる方向に巻き付けられた複数のSiC繊維からなる第2SiC繊維層と、
