Claims (4)
- 軸方向の一端部および他端部が閉塞された周壁部を有する長尺筒状のハウジングと、
前記ハウジングの内部に収容されたガス発生剤と、
前記ハウジングの前記一端部に組付けられ、前記ガス発生剤を燃焼させるための点火器と、
前記ハウジングの内部に配置され、前記ガス発生剤が収容されたガス発生剤収容室を規定するとともに、前記点火器が作動することによって発生する熱または圧力によって溶融または破裂する密閉容器と、
前記ハウジングの内部に配置され、前記ガス発生剤が燃焼することで発生するガスが通流するフィルタと、
前記密閉容器が収容された燃焼室が前記ハウジングの前記一端部側に位置するとともに、前記フィルタが収容されたフィルタ室が前記ハウジングの前記他端部側に位置するように、前記ハウジングの内部の空間を軸方向に仕切る仕切り部材とを備え、
前記ガスを外部に放出するためのガス噴出口が、前記ハウジングの前記周壁部のうちの前記フィルタ室を規定する部分に設けられ、
前記密閉容器は、前記ハウジングと略同軸上に配置された筒状の側壁部および前記側壁部の一方の軸方向端部を閉塞する頂壁部を含むカップ体と、前記カップ体の他方の軸方向端部である開口端に取付けられたカバー体とを有し、
前記カバー体は、前記カップ体の前記開口端に挿入されることで前記カップ体の内部に位置し、前記カップ体と共に前記ガス発生剤収容室を規定する平板状の底部と、前記底部の周縁から延び、前記カップ体の前記開口端の内周面、端面および外周面を覆うように少なくともその一部が曲成された巻き込み部とを含み、
前記密閉容器は、前記カバー体の前記底部が前記点火器に面するように前記ハウジングの内部に収容され、
前記巻き込み部のうち、前記カップ体の前記開口端の外周面を覆う部分であってかつ前記底部に隣接する位置の前記ガス発生剤収容室を規定する部分の前記カップ体の前記側壁部に対応した部分に、径方向内側に向けて縮径された第1かしめ部が設けられるとともに、前記巻き込み部のうち、前記カップ体の前記開口端の外周面を覆う部分であってかつ前記カップ体の前記開口端の内周面を覆う部分の前記巻き込み部に対向した部分に、径方向内側に向けて縮径された第2かしめ部が設けられることにより、前記カバー体が、前記カップ体に固定され、
前記巻き込み部のうちの前記カップ体の外周面を覆う部分によって前記カップ体の前記側壁部が前記ハウジングの前記周壁部から距離を隔てて配置されることにより、前記ハウジングの前記周壁部と前記カップ体の前記側壁部との間に断熱層としての気体層が設けられ、
前記巻き込み部に前記第2かしめ部が設けられることにより、当該第2かしめ部に隣接する部分の前記巻き込み部が、前記ハウジングの周壁部に向けて迫り出している、ガス発生器。 - 前記ハウジングの前記一端部に当接するとともに前記カバー体の前記巻き込み部に当接するように弾性体が配置されることにより、前記密閉容器が前記仕切り部材側に向けて付勢されている、請求項1に記載のガス発生器。
- 前記弾性体が、コイルバネである、請求項2に記載のガス発生器。
- 前記カバー体の前記巻き込み部を構成する部分の板厚が、前記カップ体の前記側壁部を構成する部分の板厚よりも大きい、請求項1から3のいずれかに記載のガス発生器。
