Description
<携帯型情報処理装置の構造>
図1は、本発明の各実施形態に係る携帯型情報処理装置の表側の外観を示す斜視図である。携帯型情報処理装置としては、ユーザーの身体に装着されるウェアラブル機器等が該当する。以下においては、一例として、腕時計と同様な外観を有し、ユーザーの手首に装着されるスポーツウォッチ等のリスト機器について説明する。なお、図1及びその他の図面において、各部の形状又は寸法比は、実際のものと異なる場合がある。
図4は、本発明の第1の実施形態に係る携帯型情報処理装置の構成例を示す回路図である。図4に示すように、携帯型情報処理装置100は、二次電池70と、太陽電池80と、電源制御回路200と、負荷回路300とを含んでいる。なお、図4に示す構成要素の一部を省略又は変更しても良いし、あるいは、図4に示す構成要素に他の構成要素を付加しても良い。
図4に示す例において、集積回路250は、過充電検出回路251と、過放電検出回路252と、充電過電流検出回路261と、放電過電流検出回路262と、発振回路270と、制御回路280とを内蔵している。集積回路250は、二次電池70の一端(正極)に接続された第1のノードN1から抵抗R1、R3、R4を介して第4のノードN4に供給される電圧を電源電圧として動作する。
図5は、常時動作における消費電流を説明するためのタイミングチャートである。図5においては、携帯型情報処理装置100が動作している期間において、第1又は第2の電流検出回路に供給されるイネーブル信号ENが常時ハイレベルに活性化されており、第1又は第2の電流検出回路が常時動作する。それにより、第1又は第2の電流検出回路の出力信号を取り込むための検出期間Tdetにかかわらず、一定の消費電流Iconstが常時流れるので、消費電力が大きくなってしまう。

第2の実施形態においては、図4に示すソーラー給電部210が、太陽電池80以外の発電装置から供給される電圧を変圧又は安定化する給電回路として機能する。その他の点に関しては、第2の実施形態は、第1の実施形態と同様でも良い。第2の実施形態における発電装置としては、振動発電装置又は温度差発電装置等を用いることができる。

- 電力を蓄電する二次電池と、
前記二次電池に電力を供給する給電回路と、
前記二次電池から電力が供給される電子回路と前記電子回路によって制御されるセンサーとを含む負荷回路と、
第1のイネーブル信号が活性化状態のときに、前記二次電池の一端に接続された第1のノードと前記給電回路又は前記負荷回路に接続された第2のノードとの間に流れる電流を検出して出力信号を生成し、前記第1のイネーブル信号が非活性化状態のときに、電流検出動作を停止する第1の電流検出回路と、
間欠動作又は常時動作することにより、前記第1のノードの電圧を検出して出力信号を生成する第1の電圧検出回路と、
前記第1のイネーブル信号を生成して前記第1の電流検出回路に供給し、前記第1のイネーブル信号が非活性化状態から活性化状態に遷移する期間以外の期間において、前記第1の電圧検出回路の出力信号を取り込む制御回路と、
を備える携帯型情報処理装置。 - 電力を蓄電する二次電池と、
前記二次電池に電力を供給する給電回路と、
前記二次電池から電力が供給される電子回路と前記電子回路によって制御されるセンサーとを含む負荷回路と、
第1のイネーブル信号が活性化状態のときに、前記二次電池の一端に接続された第1のノードと前記給電回路又は前記負荷回路に接続された第2のノードとの間に流れる電流を検出して出力信号を生成し、前記第1のイネーブル信号が非活性化状態のときに、電流検出動作を停止する第1の電流検出回路と、
間欠動作又は常時動作することにより、前記第1のノードの電圧を検出して出力信号を生成する第1の電圧検出回路と、
前記第1のイネーブル信号を生成して前記第1の電流検出回路に供給し、前記第1のイネーブル信号が非活性化状態から活性化状態に遷移してから第1の期間が経過した後に、前記第1の電圧検出回路の出力信号を取り込む制御回路と、
を備える携帯型情報処理装置。 - 第1のイネーブル信号が活性化状態のときに、第1のノードと第2のノードとの間に流れる電流を検出して出力信号を生成し、前記第1のイネーブル信号が非活性化状態のときに、電流検出動作を停止する第1の電流検出回路と、
間欠動作又は常時動作することにより、前記第1のノードの電圧を検出して出力信号を生成する第1の電圧検出回路と、
前記第1のイネーブル信号を生成して前記第1の電流検出回路に供給し、前記第1のイネーブル信号が非活性化状態から活性化状態に遷移する期間以外の期間において、前記第1の電圧検出回路の出力信号を取り込む制御回路と、
を備える集積回路。 - 前記制御回路が、前記第1のイネーブル信号が活性化状態から非活性化状態に遷移する期間以外の期間において、前記第1の電圧検出回路の出力信号を取り込む、請求項3記載の集積回路。
- 前記制御回路が、前記第1のイネーブル信号が非活性化状態から活性化状態に遷移してから第1の期間が経過した後に前記第1の電圧検出回路の出力信号を取り込み、前記第1のイネーブル信号が活性化状態から非活性化状態に遷移してから第2の期間が経過した後に前記第1の電圧検出回路の出力信号を取り込み、前記第1の期間が前記第2の期間よりも長い、請求項3又は4記載の集積回路。
- 前記第1の電圧検出回路が、第2のイネーブル信号が活性化状態のときに、前記第1のノードの電圧を検出して出力信号を生成し、前記第2のイネーブル信号が非活性化状態のときに、電圧検出動作を停止し、
前記制御回路が、前記第2のイネーブル信号を生成して前記第1の電圧検出回路に供給し、前記第2のイネーブル信号が非活性化状態から活性化状態に遷移する期間以外の期間において、前記第1の電流検出回路の出力信号を取り込む、
請求項3〜5のいずれか1項記載の集積回路。 - 前記制御回路が、前記第2のイネーブル信号が活性化状態から非活性化状態に遷移する期間以外の期間において、前記第1の電流検出回路の出力信号を取り込む、請求項6記載の集積回路。
- 第3のイネーブル信号が活性化状態のときに、前記第1のノードと前記第2のノードとの間に流れる電流を検出して出力信号を生成し、前記第3のイネーブル信号が非活性化状態のときに、電流検出動作を停止する第2の電流検出回路と、
第4のイネーブル信号が活性化状態のときに、前記第1のノードの電圧を検出して出力信号を生成し、前記第4のイネーブル信号が非活性化状態のときに、電圧検出動作を停止する第2の電圧検出回路と、
をさらに備え、
前記制御回路が、前記第1のイネーブル信号と前記第3のイネーブル信号とを同時に遷移させる、請求項3〜7のいずれか1項記載の集積回路。 - 請求項3〜8のいずれか1項記載の集積回路と、
前記第1のノードに接続された一端を有する二次電池と、
を備える電池パック。
