Description
以降で定義される用語について、これらの定義は、次の定義中の使用用語の変更への具体的な言及に基づいて請求項又は明細書中の他の場所に別の定義が提示されている場合を除き、請求項を含む明細書全体に適用されるものとする。
基材22は、ポリマー層が好都合である。多様なポリマーが使用されてもよいが、バリアフィルムが真空断熱パネルに使用される場合、耐破壊性及び熱安定性が特に重要視される特性である。有用なポリマー性の耐破壊性フィルムの例としては、ポリエチレン(PE)、ポリエチレンテレフタレート(PET)、ポリプロピレン(PP)、ポリエチレンナフタレート(PEN)、ポリエーテルスルホン(PES)、ポリカーボネート、ポリエステルカーボネート、ポリエーテルイミド(PEI)、ポリアリレート(PAR)、(Japanese Synthetic Rubber Co.(Tokyo,Japan)から入手可能な)商品名ARTONのポリマー、(B.F.Goodrich Co.(Brecksville,Ohio)から入手可能な)商品名AVATRELのポリマー、ポリエチレン−2,6−ナフタレート、ポリビニリデンジフルオリド、ポリフェニレンオキシド、ポリフェニレンスルフィド、ポリ塩化ビニル(PVC)、及びエチレンビニルアルコール(EVOH)等のポリマーが挙げられる。ポリイミド、ポリイミドベンゾキサゾール、ポリベンゾキサゾール、及びセルロース誘導体などの熱硬化性ポリマーも有用である。厚さおよそ0.002インチ(0.05mm)のポリエチレンテレフタレート(PET)は、二軸延伸ポリプロピレン(BOPP)フィルムと同様に都合の良い選択であると考えられる。二軸延伸ポリプロピレン(BOPP)は、ExxonMobil Chemical Company(Houston,Tex.)、Continental Polymers(Swindon,UK)、Kaisers International Corporation(Taipei City,Taiwan)、及びPT Indopoly Swakarsa Industry(ISI)(Jakarta,Indonesia)を含む、複数の供給元から市販されている。好適なフィルム材料の他の例は、「Cloth−like Polymeric Films」と題された国際公開第02/11978号(Jacksonら)において教示されている。一部の実施形態では、基材は、2つ以上のポリマー層の積層物であってもよい。
低熱伝導性の有機層32がモノマーのフラッシュ蒸着、蒸着、その後の架橋により形成される場合、揮発性のアクリレート及び(本明細書において「(メタ)アクリレート」と称される)メタクリレートモノマーが有用であり、揮発性アクリレートモノマーが好ましい。好適な(メタ)アクリレートモノマーは、蒸発器内で蒸発され、蒸着コータにおいて液体又は固体のコーティングに凝縮されるのに十分な蒸気圧を有する。
低熱伝導性の非金属無機材料層44は、金属酸化物、金属窒化物、金属酸窒化物、並びに酸化物、窒化物、及び酸窒化物の金属合金から好都合に形成されてもよい。一態様では、低熱伝導性の非金属無機材料層44は、金属酸化物を含む。好ましい金属酸化物としては、酸化アルミニウム、酸化ケイ素、ケイ素アルミニウム酸化物、窒化アルミニウムケイ素、及び酸窒化アルミニウムケイ素、CuO、TiO2、ITO、Si3N4、TiN、ZnO、酸化亜鉛アルミニウム、ZrO2、及びイットリア安定化ジルコニアが挙げられる。Ca4SiO4の使用が、その難燃性のために想到される。低熱伝導性の非金属無機材料44は、その開示が参照により援用されている、米国特許第5,725,909号(Shawら)及び米国特許第5,440,446号(Shawら)に記載されているものなど各種の方法により調製することができる。低熱伝導性の非金属無機材料は、典型的には、反応蒸着、反応スパッタ、化学蒸着、プラズマ強化化学蒸着、及び原子層堆積により調製することができる。好ましい方法としては、反応スパッタ及びプラズマ強化化学蒸着などの真空調製が挙げられる。
例えば高導電性の金属材料層46において有用な高導電性の金属材料として、アルミニウム、銀、金、銅、ベリリウム、タングステン、マグネシウム、ロジウム、イリジウム、モリブデン、亜鉛、ブロンズ、又はこれらの組み合わせを挙げることができる。一部の実施形態では、高導電性の金属材料は銅とすることができる。例えば、高導電性の金属材料、例えば銅は、良好な電磁遮蔽特性並びに良好な静電気防止特性を提供することができる。高導電性の金属はまた、高熱伝導性、例えば、1、1.1、1.2、1.5、2、3、又は4W/(cm・K)超の熱伝導性を有し得る。層の平面において高耐熱性を提供するために、約2〜100nmの厚さで金属を堆積させる。一部の実施形態では、約5〜100nmの厚さで金属を堆積させることができる。一部の実施形態では、約10〜50nmの厚さで金属を堆積させることができる。一部の実施形態では、約10〜30nmの厚さで金属を堆積させることができる。一部の実施形態では、高導電性の金属材料を部分的に酸化させることが好都合であり得る。
図2を再度参照すると、一部の実施形態では、真空断熱パネル100は、好都合には、例えば、サイズが約4マイクロメートルの小さい連続気泡を有する堅い発泡体の形態のコア104を含む。微多孔性の発泡性コアの1つの供給元は、Dow Chemical Company(Midland,MI)である。一部の実施形態では、平行に離れて配置された排出経路又は排出溝がコアの面に切り込まれ又は形成されている。外被内にコアがどのようにして真空密封されるかについての情報は、参照により本明細書に援用されている米国特許第6,106,449号(Wynne)に開示されている。他の有用な材料としては、ヒュームドシリカ、ガラス繊維、及びエアロゲルが挙げられる。
任意追加的な熱融着層もまた、存在してもよい。ポリエチレン又は直鎖状低密度ポリエチレンと低密度ポリエチレンとの配合物が好適であると考えられる。熱融着層は、押出し、コーティング、又は積層によりバリアフィルムに適用され得る。高密度ポリエチレンを含む共押出複合層もまた、好適であると考えられる。
外被が耐火性であることは、好都合であり得る。例えば、基材はそれ自身、難燃材料を含んでもよく、又は別の難燃層が、第1の層とは反対の、基材の対向する主表面と直接接触して位置付けられてもよい。層状製品における使用に好適な耐火材料に関する情報は、参照により本明細書に援用される米国特許出願第2012/0164442号(Ongら)に見出される。
バリアフィルム、あるいはこのバリアフィルムを用いる防湿袋又はVIPは半透明であることが好都合であり得る。例えば、バリアフィルムが半透明であると、バーコードスキャナを使用してバーコード部をバリアフィルムを通して直接読み取ることが可能になり、これにより、袋にバーコードを付ける必要をなくすことができる。かかる半透明のバリアフィルムは、部品検査用の防湿袋、又はこれらの袋の内部の乾燥剤及び湿度表示カードにおいて使用することができる。
以下の実施例は、本発明の説明を目的としたものであって限定的なものではない。

水蒸気透過率(WVTR)
Mocon(Minneapolis,MN)からPERMATRAN W700として市販されている湿気透過試験で以下の実施例のうちいくつかのバリア特性を試験した。試験体制は、50℃及び100%RHであった。
平均可視光線透過率について、実施例のうちの一部を測定した。Perkin Elmer(Altham,MA)のLambda 950又はHunterLab(Reson,VA)によるUltraScan PROのいずれかの市販の分光光度計器具を使用して透過光%を測定した。400nm〜700nmの透過光%の平均値を計算した。
以下の実施例のうちの一部は、市販の測定器具(Electro−Tech Systems Inc(Glenside PA)によるmodel 406C)で静電気減衰について試験した。
実施例のうちの一部は、市販の非接触渦電流測定器具(Delcom Instruments Inc (Prescott,WI)によるmodel 717 Conductance monitor)でシート抵抗について試験した。
以下の実施例のうちの一部は、市販の測定器具(Electro−Tech Systems Inc(Glenside PA)によるmodel 4431T)で、ANSI/ESD S11.31の静電気遮蔽について試験した。
実施例1
バリアフィルムの以下の実施例は、米国特許第5,440,446号(Shawら)及び同第7,018,713号(Padiyathら)に記載されているコータと同様の真空コータ上で製造された。DuPont−Teijin Films(Chester,VA)から市販されている、0.05mm厚、14インチ(35.6cm)幅のPETフィルムの不定長ロールの形態の基材をこのコータに入れた。ついで、この基材を、16fpm(4.9m/分)の一定のライン速度で前進させた。低熱伝導性の有機層の接着性を改善するために、基材を窒素プラズマ処理に供することにより、コーティング用に調製した。
基材が2.15mil厚の二軸延伸ポリプロピレンであったことを除いて、実施例1の手順に従って、バリアフィルムを調製した。上述の試験方法に従って、水蒸気透過に関して試験し、水蒸気透過率は、機器の検出限界を下回ることが見出された。
バリアフィルムの以下の実施例は、米国特許第5,440,446号(Shawら)及び同第7,018,713号(Padiyathら)に記載されているコータと同様の真空コータ上で製造された。Kolon Industries Inc(韓国Gwacheon市)からAstroll ST01として市販されている、0.00092インチ(0.023mm)厚のPETフィルムの不定長ロールの形態で基材をこのコータに入れた。ついで、この基材を、16fpm(4.9m/分)の一定のライン速度で前進させた。低熱伝導性の有機層の接着性を改善するために、基材を窒素プラズマ処理に供することにより、コーティング用に調製した。
以下の事項を除いて、実施例3の手順に概ね従って、バリアフィルムを調製した。銅を蒸着させるために使用されるそれぞれのカソードの出力は、50nm厚の銅層を蒸着させるためには4.0kWであった。
以下の事項を除いて、実施例3の手順に概ね従って、バリアフィルムを調製した。使用した基材は、Toray Plastics Americaから市販されている0.97milのPETであり、銅を蒸着させるために使用されるそれぞれのカソードの出力は、10nm厚の銅層を蒸着させるためには0.8kWであった。
以下の事項を除いて、実施例5の手順に概ね従って、バリアフィルムを調製した。SiAlのターゲットを使用するカソードは、80sccmのN2をAC反応性スパッタリングプロセスへと流して、20nmの酸窒化ケイ素アルミニウムを蒸着させた。
以下の事項を除いて、実施例5の手順に概ね従って、バリアフィルムを調製した。低熱伝導性の有機層を基材上に形成したとき、蒸発器への液体流は2.66mL/分であった。
Claims (3)
- (a)2つの対向する主表面を有する基材と、
(b)前記基材の前記対向する主表面のうちの一方と直接接触しており、(メタ)アクリレートモノマーを含む有機層である、第1の層と、
(c)前記第1の層と直接接触しており、無機積層体である、第2の層と、
を備え、
前記無機積層体は、1W/(cm・K)以下の熱伝導性を有する低熱伝導性の非金属無機材料層及び高導電性の金属材料層を含み、前記高導電性の金属材料層の平面において高耐熱性を有し、
前記高導電性の金属材料層は、1×10 7 シーメンス/m超の導電性を有し、且つ1000ケルビン/W超の耐熱性を有し、
