Claims (4)
- 母材と、その母材の表面に形成されると共に、少なくとも一部にホウ素を含有するダイヤモンドの被膜として形成されるダイヤモンド被膜と、を備える工具において、
前記ダイヤモンド被膜の表層側の層として形成され、前記ホウ素が非含有とされる第1層と、前記ダイヤモンド被膜の前記第1層よりも前記母材側に位置する層として形成され、少なくとも1000ppm以上の前記ホウ素を含有する第2層と、を備える前記ダイヤモンド被膜が複数積層され、
前記母材側に位置する前記ダイヤモンド被膜の前記第2層よりも、表層側に位置する前記ダイヤモンド被膜の前記第2層ほど前記ホウ素の含有量が多く設定され、
前記複数のダイヤモンド被膜は、前記第1層の各々の膜厚が同一に設定されると共に前記第2層の各々の膜厚が同一に設定される複数の第1ダイヤモンド被膜と、それら複数の第1ダイヤモンド被膜の表層側に積層され、前記第1層の各々の膜厚が同一に設定されると共に前記第2層の各々の膜厚が同一に設定される複数の第2ダイヤモンド被膜と、それら複数の第2ダイヤモンド被膜の表層側に積層され、前記第1層の各々の膜厚が同一に設定されると共に前記第2層の各々の膜厚が同一に設定される複数の第3ダイヤモンド被膜と、を備え、
前記第1層の膜厚は、前記第1ダイヤモンド被膜よりも前記第2ダイヤモンド被膜において薄く形成され、且つ前記第2ダイヤモンド被膜よりも前記第3ダイヤモンド被膜において薄く形成され、
前記第2層の膜厚は、前記第1ダイヤモンド被膜よりも前記第2ダイヤモンド被膜において薄く形成され、且つ前記第2ダイヤモンド被膜よりも前記第3ダイヤモンド被膜において薄く形成されることを特徴とする工具。 - 前記複数のダイヤモンド被膜のうちの最も前記母材側に位置する前記ダイヤモンド被膜は、前記母材と前記第2層との間の層として形成されると共に、前記ホウ素が非含有とされる第3層を備えることを特徴とする請求項1記載の工具。
- 前記第1層は、その膜厚が前記第2層の膜厚の寸法に対して100%未満の寸法に設定されることを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載の工具。
- 前記第1層は、その膜厚が前記第2層の膜厚に対して25%以上の寸法に設定されることを特徴とする請求項3記載の工具。
