Description
X:Ce以外のランタノイド、Y、Sc
且つ、Xの原子が、Al2O3結晶粒子とX3Al5O12:Ce結晶粒子との界面に隣接するAl2O3結晶粒子中に含まれている。
・「主成分」とは、光波長変換部材中において、最も多い量(即ち体積)存在することを示している。例えば、光波長変換部材には、透光性粒子であるAl2O3結晶粒子と、蛍光性粒子である化学式X3Al5O12:Ceで表される結晶粒子(即ちX3Al5O12:Ce結晶粒子)とを、合計で50体積%以上(好ましくは90体積%以上)含まれていてもよい。

まず、本実施形態の光波長変換部材を備えた発光装置について説明する。

次に、光波長変換部材9について説明する。
しかも、この光波長変換部材9では、Xの原子が、Al2O3結晶粒子とX3Al5O12:Ce結晶粒子との界面に隣接するAl2O3結晶粒子中に含まれている。

次に、光波長変換部材9を製造する際の概略の手順について、図2に基づいて、簡単に説明する。

次に、前記実施形態の具体的な実施例等について説明する。
[2−1.試料の評価方法]
まず、各試料に対して実施した各評価の方法について説明する。
各試料の光波長変換部材のセラミックス焼結体を、JIS R1634に規定される方法によって測定することにより、開気孔率を求めた。
各試料の光波長変換部材のセラミックス焼結体を、φ3mm、厚さt=50〜100μmのディスク状に機械研磨加工した。次に、ディスク中心部分をディンプリングした後、イオンミリング法により中央部を貫通させて、STEM(走査型透過電子顕微鏡)用の試料を得た。
前記イオンの存在確認で使用した試料を用い、Al2O3結晶粒子とX3Al5O12:Ce結晶粒子との界面に隣接するAl2O3結晶粒子に対して、X元素のうちのY元素が存在する位置を確認した。
光波長変換部材の各試料として、縦13mm×横13mm×厚み0.2mmの試料を作製した。

[2−2.試料の製造方法及び評価結果]
次に、各試料の製造方法と、各試料の評価結果について説明する。
下記表1に示す条件により、No.1〜6の光波長変換部材の試料を作製した。即ち、反応焼結によって、No.1〜6の光波長変換部材の試料を作製した。
下記表1に示す条件により、No.7の光波長変換部材の試料を作製した。
下記表1に示す条件により、No.8〜10の光波長変換部材の試料を作製した。即ち、反応焼結によって、No.8〜10の光波長変換部材の試料を作製した。
本開示は前記実施形態になんら限定されるものではなく、本開示を逸脱しない範囲において種々の態様で実施しうることはいうまでもない。
Claims (2)
- Al2O3結晶粒子と、化学式X3Al5O12:Ceで表されるX3Al5O12:Ce結晶粒子と、を主成分とする多結晶体であるセラミックス焼結体から構成された光波長変換部材において、
前記X3Al5O12:Ce中のXは、下記の元素であり、
X:Y及びGd
且つ、前記Xの原子が、前記Al2O3結晶粒子と前記X3Al5O12:Ce結晶粒子との界面に隣接する前記Al2O3結晶粒子中に含まれており、
前記Xの原子は、前記界面に隣接する前記Al2O3結晶粒子の表面から5nm以上20nm以下の範囲に存在し、20nmを超える範囲に存在しない、
光波長変換部材。 - 前記請求項1に記載の光波長変換部材と、発光素子と、を備えた、
発光装置。
