予め不活性ガスを通気させて溶存酸素を取り除いたイオン交換水に、硫酸ニッケル、硫酸マンガン、硫酸コバルトを、Ni,Mn,Coの各元素が0.132:0.532:0.136のモル比になるように溶解させ、これら金属元素の合計モル濃度が2mol/Lとなるように混合水溶液を調整した。同様に溶存酸素を取り除いたイオン交換水を用いて2mol/Lの水酸化ナトリウム水溶液、0.352mol/Lのアンモニア水をそれぞれ調整した。溶存酸素を取り除いたイオン交換水を槽内温度50℃に設定された反応槽に入れ、800rpmで撹拌させた状態で、そこに水酸化ナトリウム水溶液を滴下して液温25℃を基準としたときにpHが12となるように調整した。反応槽に混合水溶液、水酸化ナトリウム水溶液、アンモニア水をpH12に制御しつつ加え、共沈生成物の複合水酸化物を得た。水酸化ナトリウム水溶液のみ適宜加えてpHを12に保ち、2時間撹拌を継続した。その後、50℃で12時間以上静止することで複合水酸化物を粒子成長させた。反応終了後、複合水酸化物をろ過、水洗して取り出し、120℃のオーブン内で一晩乾燥させて複合水酸化物の粉末試料を得た。得られた複合水酸化物粉末と水酸化リチウム粉末とを、リチウムのモル数Mol(Li)と遷移金属元素(ここではNi,Mn,Co)の総モル数Mol(Me)との比(Mol(Li)/Mol(Me))が1.5となるように混合した。この混合粉末を6MPaの圧力で直径2cm、厚さ5mmのペレットに加圧成型し、空気雰囲気の電気炉にこのペレットを入れ900℃まで2時間で昇温し、その温度で12時間焼成したのち、液体窒素中にクエンチし、目的組成Li[(Li1/3Mn2/3)0.6(Ni0.33Mn0.33Co0.34)0.4]O2のリチウム複合酸化物を得た。
得られたリチウム複合酸化物を正極活物質とし、活物質を85質量%、導電材としてカーボンブラックを10質量%、結着材としてポリフッ化ビニリデンを5質量%混合し、分散媒としてN−メチル−2−ピロリドンを適量添加、分散してスラリー状合材とした。このスラリー状合材を20μm厚のアルミニウム箔集電体に均一に塗布し、加熱乾燥させて正極シートを作製した。その後、正極シートをロールプレスに通して高密度化させ、52mm幅×450mm長の形状に切り出して正極電極とした。負極活物質として黒鉛を用い、活物質を95質量%、結着材としてポリフッ化ビニリデンを5質量%混合し、正極と同様にスラリー状合材とした。これらスラリー状合材を10μm厚の銅箔集電体に均一に塗布し、加熱乾燥させて負極シートを作製した。その後、負極シートをロールプレスに通して高密度化させ、54mm幅×500mm長の形状に切り出して負極電極とした。上記正極シートと負極シートとを56mm幅で25μm厚のポリエチレン製セパレータを挟んで捲回し、ロール状電極体を作製した。この電極体を18650型円筒ケースに挿入し、非水電解液を含浸させた後に密閉して円筒型リチウムイオン二次電池を作製した。非水電解液には、エチレンカーボネートとジエチルカーボネートを体積比で30:70で混合した溶媒にLiPF6を1Mの濃度で溶解し、一般式(1)で示される添加化合物としてLiPF2(C2O4)2(式(2))を0.05Mの濃度で添加したものを用いた。
充放電サイクル試験は、電池の実使用温度範囲の上限と目される60℃の温度条件下で、電流密度2mA/cm2の定電流で、充電上限電圧5.0Vまで充電を行い、次いで電流密度2mA/cm2の定電流で、放電下限電圧2.0Vまで放電を行う充放電を1サイクルとし、このサイクルを合計100サイクル行った。サイクルごとに、放電容量を測定した。
充放電サイクル試験の初回放電容量を初期放電容量として、(100サイクル後の放電容量/初期放電容量)×100%という式を用いて、容量維持率を計算した。
電池容量の60%の充電状態(SOC=60%)に調整した後に、測定温度25℃において0.5A、1A、2A、3A、5Aの電流を流し、10秒後の電池電圧を測定した。流した電流と電圧を直線近似し、その傾きからIV抵抗、即ち、電池の内部抵抗を求めた。抵抗上昇率は、{(100サイクル後の内部抵抗―初期の内部抵抗)/初期の内部抵抗}×100%という式を用いて計算した。
一般式(1)で示される添加化合物としてLiPF2(C2O4)2に代えてLiPF4(C2O4)(式(3))を用いた以外は、実験例1と同様に実験例2の電池を作製し評価を行った。一般式(1)で示される添加化合物としてLiPF2(C2O4)2に代えてLiP(C2O4)3(式(4))を用いた以外は、実験例1と同様に実験例3の電池を作製し評価を行った。
LiPF2(C2O4)2の添加量を0.05Mから0.01Mとした以外は、実験例1と同様に実験例4の電池を作製し評価を行った。LiPF2(C2O4)2の添加量を0.05Mから0.1Mとした以外は、実験例1と同様に実験例5の電池を作製し評価を行った。
正極活物質の合成に際し、Ni,Mn,Coの各元素が0.033:0.633:0.034のモル比になるようにしたことと、Mol(Li)/Mol(Me)が13/7となるようにしたこと以外は、実験例1と同様に実験例6の電池を作製し評価を行った。また、正極活物質の合成に際し、Ni,Mn,Coの各元素が0.165:0.498:0.170のモル比になるようにしたことと、Mol(Li)/Mol(Me)が1.4となるようにしたこと以外は、実験例1と同様に実験例7の電池を作製し評価を行った。
一般式(1)で示される添加化合物を添加しなかったこと以外は、実験例1と同様に実験例8の電池を作製し評価を行った。
正極活物質の合成に際し、Ni,Mn,Coの各元素が0.2:0.6:0のモル比になるようにしたこと以外は、実験例1と同様に実験例9の電池を作製し評価を行った。一般式(1)で示される添加化合物としてLiPF2(C2O4)2に代えてLiPF4(C2O4)(式(3))を用いた以外は、実験例9と同様に実験例10の電池を作製し評価を行った。一般式(1)で示される添加化合物としてLiPF2(C2O4)2に代えてLiP(C2O4)3(式(4))を用いた以外は、実験例9と同様に実験例11の電池を作製し評価を行った。
一般式(1)で示される添加化合物を添加しなかったこと以外は、実験例9と同様に実験例12の電池を作製し評価を行った。
正極活物質の合成に際し、Ni,Mn,Coの各元素が0.16:0.56:0.08のモル比になるようにしたこと以外は、実験例1と同様に実験例13の電池を作製し評価を行った。正極活物質の合成に際し、Ni,Mn,Coの各元素が0.18:0.52:0.10のモル比になるようにしたこと以外は、実験例1と同様に実験例14の電池を作製し評価を行った。正極活物質の合成に際し、Ni,Mn,Coの各元素が0.150:0.542:0.075のモル比になるようにしたことと、Mol(Li)/Mol(Me)が37/23となるようにしたこと以外は、実験例1と同様に実験例15の電池を作製し評価を行った。正極活物質の合成に際し、Ni,Mn,Coの各元素が0.24:0.48:0.08のモル比になるようにしたこと以外は、実験例1と同様に実験例16の電池を作製し評価を行った。正極活物質の合成に際し、Ni,Mn,Coの各元素が0.16:0.48:0.16のモル比になるようにしたこと以外は、実験例1と同様に実験例17の電池を作製し評価を行った。正極活物質の合成に際し、Ni,Mn,Coの各元素が0.12:0.62:0.06のモル比になるようにしたこと以外は、実験例1と同様に実験例18の電池を作製し評価を行った。正極活物質の合成に際し、Ni,Mn,Coの各元素が0.2475:0.4650:0.1375のモル比になるようにしたことと、Mol(Li)/Mol(Me)が23/17となるようにしたこと以外は、実験例1と同様に実験例19の電池を作製し評価を行った。
一般式(1)で示される添加化合物を添加しなかったこと以外は、実験例14と同様に実験例20の電池を作製し評価を行った。一般式(1)で示される添加化合物を添加しなかったこと以外は、実験例16と同様に実験例21の電池を作製し評価を行った。一般式(1)で示される添加化合物を添加しなかったこと以外は、実験例17と同様に実験例22の電池を作製し評価を行った。一般式(1)で示される添加化合物を添加しなかったこと以外は、実験例18と同様に実験例23の電池を作製し評価を行った。一般式(1)で示される添加化合物を添加しなかったこと以外は、実験例19と同様に実験例24の電池を作製し評価を行った。
正極活物質の合成に際して、イオン交換水に、硫酸ニッケル、硫酸マンガン、硫酸コバルトを溶解させるのに代えて、イオン交換水に硫酸クロム、硫酸マンガンを、Cr,Mnの各元素が0.4:0.4のモル比になるように溶解させた以外は、実験例1と同様に実験例25の電池を作製し評価を行った。
一般式(1)で示される添加化合物を添加しなかったこと以外は、実験例25と同様に実験例26の電池を作製し評価を行った。
一般式(1)で示される添加化合物を添加した実験例1〜7,9〜11,13〜19,25では、添加しなかった実験例8,12,20〜24,26に比して、容量維持率が高く抵抗上昇率が小さくなった。なお、各実験例では、容量維持率の測定に際して、60℃という高温条件下で繰り返し充放電を行っていることから、容量維持率が高いものは、高温耐久性に優れているとも言える。
Claims (7)
- 一般式Li[(Li1/3Mn2/3)1-z(Me)z]O2(但し、MeはNi、Co、Al、Cr、Fe、Mg、Mnからなる群より選ばれる1以上であり、zは0<z<1を満たす)で表される正極活物質を有する正極と、
負極活物質を有する負極と、
前記正極と前記負極との間に介在し、一般式(1)で示されるアニオン化合物を含む添加化合物とリチウムイオンを含む電解質とを含有し、フッ素化エーテル及びビススルホニルイミド構造を有するリチウム化合物の一方又は両方を含まない非水系イオン伝導媒体と、
を備え、
前記添加化合物は、前記非水系イオン伝導媒体中の濃度が0.04M以上である、
リチウムイオン二次電池。
- 前記正極活物質は、一般式Li[(Li1/3Mn2/3)1-z(NisMntCou)z]O2(但し、zは0.1≦z≦0.5、s,t,uは0<s≦0.5、0<t≦0.5、0≦u≦0.35、s+t+u=1.0を満たす)で表される、請求項1に記載のリチウムイオン二次電池。
- 一般式Li[(Li 1/3 Mn 2/3 ) 1-z (Ni s Mn t Co u ) z ]O 2 (但し、zは0.1≦z≦0.5、s,t,uは0<s≦0.5、0<t≦0.5、0≦u≦0.35、s+t+u=1.0,s=tを満たす)で表される正極活物質を有する正極と、
負極活物質を有する負極と、
前記正極と前記負極との間に介在し、一般式(1)で示されるアニオン化合物を含む添加化合物とリチウムイオンを含む電解質とを含有し、フッ素化エーテル及びビススルホニルイミド構造を有するリチウム化合物の一方又は両方を含まない非水系イオン伝導媒体と、
を備えたリチウムイオン二次電池。
- 前記非水系イオン伝導媒体は、前記添加化合物と前記電解質との全体に対して、前記添加化合物を2mol%以上45mol%以下の割合で含む、請求項1〜4のいずれか1項に記載のリチウムイオン二次電池。
- 前記正極活物質がリチウム基準で4.5V以上の電位となるまで充電したものである、請求項1〜5のいずれか1項に記載のリチウムイオン二次電池。
- 請求項1〜6のいずれか1項に記載のリチウムイオン二次電池を、前記正極がリチウム基準で4.5V以上の電位となるまで充電する、リチウムイオン二次電池の使用方法。
